So God knows the end from the beginning, yet allows the free will of men to play itself out within that knowledge. Oh, and just because He could, He simultaneously directs the heart of the king without violating that king's free will even while He knows the end from the beginning. Brain goes tilt. Clearly, as if we needed to be reminded, God is not like us. Maranatha!!! Sound like the perfect parent! TR Indeed! Romans 11:33 “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!” :prayer-hands: If you consider how many people are alive on planet earth on any given modern day, that's over 7 billion, and yet God is intimately aware of every single thought of every single person. WOW! It is truly mind boggling to think that any being can keep up with it all. Yes, indeed ... I was always awe-struck that the Lord knows ... “even the very hairs of your head are all numbered ...” Luke 12:7 and He listens to ALL our prayers at the same time “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer ...” I Peter 3:12 These 2 facts have really built up my faith ... knowing nothing is too hard for God to fix or answer. I expect miracles all the time. There are indeed things about God which are too difficult for the human mind to process. Among them are the eternal existence of God, free will versus the sovereignty of God, and the Trinity. I have read theologians and they all fall short in their explanations, so I don't think it's about brainpower. I have to wonder if we will ever comprehend how it all fits together. Exactly, our finite brains just can’t get wrapped around an infinite eternal God. Ive mentions this verse before and it fits this line of thinking to ponder over, especially the last part. Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He put eternity into mans heart, yet so that he cannot find out (or fathom) what God has done from beginning to end.” or how about Psalms 145:3-4 “God is magnificent; he can never be praised enough. There are no boundaries to his greatness. Generation after generation stands in awe of your work; each one tells stories of your mighty acts.” can’t remember this one but is goes ... is it fearful to fall into the hands of a righteous God... this is speaking to the lost and condemned. Sorry I can’t remember it and I’m not at a location to look it up. I’m thankful to be among the “beloved” :yahoo: :prayer-hands: When I can't quote scripture and verse and or paraphrase, it's ok. God knows where it's at, and He knows what I'm trying to say. I remember principles and concepts primarily, and verses the Lord brings alive into my life. I've often run into a legalistic spirit and try to refrain from scripture bashing non believers. And unless I am in a teaching setting, I find that truth no matter it's stated usually suffices. From memory, "it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God"! Theology articulates the teachings of God, scripture and verse lends authority, and faith can move mountains but wisdom plainly spoken and from the heart is more powerful than a two edged sword, IMHO! This type of truth and self expression is what makes the psalms so powerful! As the old saying goes, when in doubt...punt! TR
