I've got the goosebumps today! My dogs eat what was deposited by the cat in the litter box! They're not allowed to go in those rooms anymore. I have a 6 month old German Shepherd, our new outdoor farm dog, who is basically full sized now and he routinely pulls out my newly planted flowers. Is it un-Christ-like to scream and chase your dog after he's pulled out the flowers from your pots? My youngest son for mother's day got me 2 beautiful Hydrangea plants and the dog, Rosco, tore them to bits. (for the 2 = $50 Canadian). I reprimanded him and purchased 2 replacements....dumb or what....and planted them in among some other perennials thinking he would not find them....he did....chewed them to bits after pulling them out. (now we're at 100$ Canadian)......just one of the costs of having a pet....the vet bills are horrendous. (also have a small lap dog for the house and a cat). Rosco is the most loving wonderful dog except for this one issue....if our pets are raptured with us....Rosco better be given a renewed character in this respect. Trust, my daughter has a Shepard named Sadie and she is as gentle as a lamb, but at 80 pounds and only 9 months old this puppy bowls you over. She also chews everything, the garden hose that we run to the garden had to be run through a PVC pipe and buried about 8” deep in a trench, this was the fourth hose they had to buy. We had to fence the garden in to keep her from destroying the earth boxes and other plants in our 700 sq ft family garden. Had to build a enclosure around the AC unit, she tried to eat the hose. In playing with the smaller dog (a King Charles), Sadie accidentally bit Savanna on the neck and she needed two stitches. Shepards are wonderful pets (I’ve had two in the past) and great to have around but they do like to chew. :mdrmdr: :calvin They out-grow this trait of chewing.....I hope! Mine also digs holes in the lawn.... :mdrmdr: Yikes! I don’t blame you for keeping the cat’s bathroom off limits!! I hear ya with the expensive vet bills and their medication. Wow! Rosco is definitely a rascal ! You were brave to get more hydrangea plants! But I can see why you caved and bought more … they are beautiful plants/bushes … they are my favorite too! This spring I bought a small fuchsia one, a blue and a purple because the ones from last year are taking too long to bloom. I want instant flowers because time is short and I expect the rapture any day now. Oh I guarantee Rosco will be a good boy in heaven! Or if not … maybe our guardian angel(s) will be assigned to pet sitting duties?! :mdrmdr:
