Hello siblings,

My anxiety has been too much the last few days.  I called my ND, a supplement might have caused this and I stopped taking it as of yesterday.

Today, it's really bad, I am worried.

My work is with immigrants and refugees, the majority are Muslims. I gave 3 vulnerable clients my personal cell. One client called me  yesterday, the other today. they do like me. both of them told me they pray/wish me well everyday. I put / in between the words because they use an Arabic word which I am not sure  how it translates exactly to English. I sent a message on  whatsapp to someone who is good in Arabic and I asked him what that word means.

He left a message saying: "it means I pray for you. I wish you good things, I pray that God will give you  good things".

so I assume basically it's praying that God gives me good things.

I think I am struggling a lot  right now because of the supplement  that  I was taking, however, talking to these 2 clients got me a bit worried.

I  had these clients and others  who speak Arabic tell me at different times that they pray/wish me well. I used to feel uncomfortable when they say that  but I used to brush it off and try not to worry.

Maybe talking to both clients two days in a row got me thinking whether I should worry that Muslims are communicating with their God about  me.

Am I being paranoid?

Should I just pray for God to protect me?

thank  you

You are protected by the loving God Almighty!  And He provides for you!

Just receive it as a show of love on their part!

Thank you so much TR for confirming that I am protected.

I am happy to consider it a show of love from their part.

I would think that it would be the same as meat sacrificed to idols.

1 Corinthians 10:25-33

New King James Version

25 Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, asking no questions for conscience’ sake; 26 for “the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.”

27 If any of those who do not believe invites you to dinner, and you desire to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no question for conscience’ sake. 28 But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,” do not eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for conscience’ sake; for “the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.” 29 “Conscience,” I say, not your own, but that of the other. For why is my liberty judged by another man’s conscience? 30 But if I partake with thanks, why am I evil spoken of for the food over which I give thanks?

31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 32 Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God, 33 just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

----+

I would think if the meat offered to an idol was safe to eat then a prayer offered on your behalf would not harm you either. So, I would thank them for their prayers.

I would, however, tell them (with love of course), that you pray in the name of Jesus Christ and then ask if you may in return pray for them.

Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, So a curse without cause shall not alight. prov 26

Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place, the Most High, who is my refuge no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. psalm 91

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36

Heidi, these well wishes are likely innocent but it may be the Lord Who has brought to to your mind, only as a reminder to cover yourself in prayer with His protective Word as you work with non-believers and muslims. Just pray over your day(s), covering yourself in the Name of Jesus and the blood of Christ as you head to work.

Pray quietly for their salvation in your contacts with them, while trusting that no weapon formed against you will prosper, knowing that the Lord and the Word are protecting you from whatever they say or pray. :bible

Hi Heidi, this is a simple prayer of separation I have prayed on those occasional times when I  feel 'gunk' on me after work:

Dear Heavenly Father, Please separate me out body, soul, and spirit from_______.  Give back to him/her anything I am holding of theirs and give back to me, anything they are holding of mine.  Please cut between us with the Sword of Your Spirit and put the Blood of Jesus between us.  Thank you!  In Jesus Name, amen.

Thank you Arthur, so if we know food was offered to idols and we eat, that's still OK?

Thank you for the advice Kolleen. I will pray over myself  everyday

thank you for that prayer Nann, I will  say that prayer too. I don't understand this part: " Give back to him/her anything I am holding of theirs and give back to me, anything they are holding of mine. "

Heidi, we know idols are nothing so it would be acceptable. However, if you know it will offend your brother or sister, then out of love, you don't.

Likewise, we know the prayers to an idol (in this case allah) are nothing. They can't do anything because that allah has no ability to answer prayer.

That's the way I see it, anyhow.

Personally speaking, I don't eat Halal meat. Not because of them saying a prayer over it before sacrifice but because the Halal industry pays a portion of their taxes to fund terrorism. I don't want to be a part of that, even very indirectly.

Heidi,

I probably missed the news that you got your job back.

Sounds like you are now working again.
