This change also helps improve the browsing experience in long-running discussions with many pages of replies. If you notice anything that doesn't seem to be working correctly or have any feedback, please let me know. — Richard G. Depression seems to run in part of my family in different forms. My sister has struggled for many years with it. She went to all the "shrinks", took all the sessions, meds, and nothing seemed to really make a difference. I finally told her on the phone in 2020 that I thought I had depression. I told her that my doctor put me on these Lexepro pills. She sold me that all these depression meds that the doctors push are worthless and can make depression worse. That the average doctors don't really konw what they are doing and giving you for depression. She said she used to take Lexepro as advised me to throw them in the trash. Instead, she said that she had been taking a natural herbal supplement called Kratom. She recommended a particular type of Kratom capsules and brand. She said do not take their suggested dose on the Kratom bottle, but just take one or two a day and skip days or cut back if they seem to upset your regularity. They come from the tea plant and what these have been used for centuries is a sort of East Indies version of a coffee break. What Kratom has done for me is amazing! They have lifted my mood, relaxed me, help alleviate anxiety and stress. They are not the total answer to depression and your Christian faith needs to be there also. Doctors differ on Kratom, as with all natural supplimnets; so you might discuss this with them. Kratom, like lots of things, is abused by some as a form of getting a buzz; and some kids will take huge overdoses and end up in the hospital.. And just like with "gun control" some liberal states think the answer to abuse it to ban its sale. (only one state I know of to ban it in stores is Colorado) But Kratom can easily be ordered online. Most of what you read it positive about moderate use of Kratom for depression. For me Kratom has made a significant difference in helping me with depression along with prayer. But you do need to monitor any side effects like changes in your normal digestion and regulate your dosage, and it can make kind-of hipper sometimes. Kratom capsules are at many convenience stores. Here again, the "medical community" is a little on the fence about Kratom. It seems some would rather you take pills they prescribe that might take months to start working like Lexepro and could have a whole list of side effects to be concerned with. Phil I think enough information has been given here, so time to close this Topic. :rose: Hi Geri. Walmart and health stores won't carry Kratom. Try these 7-11 type convenience stores, usually the independent ones who don't have to conform to some corporate model. If you decide to take them, first ask your doctor and make sure that taking Kratom will not interfere with your thyroid meds. Phil I live near the Ks and Mo border. Both states its legal, for now...What holds up a lot of states on making it legal is the red tape of keeping remedies like Kratom "under further research" and it gets kept there indefinitely. It's all about politics and government control. I'm not a prepper, but I am planning to stock up on Kratom, at least a year's supply. Phil Unfortunately, nope …my state is on the no no list … I googled Walmart and the local health food stores and they don’t carry it. I will have to try New York. I’m not depressed now because I’m taking the right dose of thyroid meds. It took about 3 weeks to feel well again. But its good to have this on hand if it ever occurs again. I agree the FDA and pharmacies are in constant battle with the health food store industry. I prefer all natural things vs. taking a lab pill with tons of serious side effects. Years ago I bought those foot detox pads … they pull the toxins out of your body while you sleep and the FDA got involved to investigate if that was healthy. 🙄 So the future orders were on hold for about 6 months … then they finally gave their approval. They probably figured they didn’t work so lets approve them … but they did … I felt a difference and so did those in my family that wanted to try them.
