This thread is for the discussion of simple godly pleasures.

Back when I was a kid in the 1960's my mom bought an album by The Lettermen. It was called The Lettermen.....and Live! and on this album was recorded one of my all time favorite songs. Its a cappella and the harmonies are just beautiful. It's called "I Believe" and is an obvious reference to God.

Enjoy!

First done by Frankie Lane!

I like his version better!  Love the song, many have recorded it over the years!

Yeah, but Frankie didn't have beautiful harmonies in his version  😉

The letterman specialized in 4 part harmonies and some songs are made for that.

While some songs are made for a single voice, IMHO!

Four-part harmony from a trio...?  Well I suppose it's done quite easily with re-recording / voice-over / mixing techniques using some snazzy music app.  Maybe trickier, though, back in The Lettermen's day.

Yeah, Yohanan.  There were lots of popular songs which acknowledged God back in the 50s / 60s.  I suspect when (if?) an artistic piece becomes "popular" in the Millennium, such will be full of praise for the Almighty.  Thanks for this one.

It's really gonna be different then.  Maybe those we serve / rule / reign over / will think our 20th century love songs are kinda quaint.  Maybe retro will become popular in certain circles.

Personally I could do without rap music for all eternity.  :negative:  I hope that doesn't suggest some bigoted racial thing...  B-)  Another thing good about the Millennium is that folks won't have to tell each other to "just get a life!"

Anyone old enough to remember this one?

Cool!  I meant harmonizing as a general rule, as opposed to solo!
