That all being said, there is some studies to show the vents are more harmful for COVID patients as with SARS or ARDS, the lung loose “stretch” and PEEP (positive End Expiratory Pressure) has to be increased so high, it can literately blow holes in the lungs. A PEEP of greater than 10 starts moving in the wrong direction for PTs. Plus the aerolization from this can affect staff, spraying COVID particulates into the surroundings environment.
