May the Hope of the Church soon be realized!

Bless all your hearts, and I'm not from the south!  My name is not Denny!

I love it when we step away from high watch dates long enough to encourage one another!

kent- that does sound disturbing...and yes, exactly, the Bible- the Truth- Jesus- is exciting!  there is no need to entertain with worldly ways- they can get plenty of worldliness anywhere and everywhere- we need to grow with meat as Believers and unbelievers visiting need to hear the real and best good news there is!  people try too hard to make God attractive...if they teach them why and how to be saved, His Holy Spirit will come in and give them His love to love Him back with and they will feel like they can't get enough of Him- fulfilled yet always wanting more of Him w/o any bells or whistles- or magic tricks-yikes!

"I feel the remnant is getting smaller every day as the time approaches for the Lord’s return. The world seems to be getting darker and more evil."  this is what i was lamenting today...absolutely...i was submerged into a scary world today as i read lyrics from a band i found out my son is a fan of...so sad, so maddening...i do hate satan's deception...i do understand more and more God's wrath to come...i know He loves every person more than we do and will do and does all He can to reach them while still allowing their ability to choose to reject Him...amazing He chose to make Himself vulnerable in that way and yet He is truly King of Kings and Lord of Lords!  i can't wait to have a glorified mind that understands Him more as He truly is...

The Lord has yet many within and being added to the remnant daily!  Fear not, but believe in His power!

Again, Heaven will be filled with sinners while Hell will be filled with good people!

This is a work of the Lord!

Wow all of you are sharing stories about church that echo my feelings.   Our pastor won't talk about the end-times or Revelation.   Its all about topical preaching.   I get that you need a message that will draw in the seekers but to water down the Word so much that its about 1/2" deep just makes me sad.   I grew up in expository preaching churches and long for that verse by verse, book by book study focused on the Word, not the topics we see on the news.    That's what I love about JD and others.   We stopped going to church 18 months ago and would rather find communities like this that focus on what's important than swim in lukewarm Christianity.   But we knew all of this watered down preaching was going to come - I just don't want to be part of anything that's watered down.   I want preaching that is full strength and straight from the Word.   Maybe that's what I get from being the grandson of a pastor - both of my paternal grandparents memorized a majority of the Bible.  Just amazing what they knew and shared.
