Strengthening the Paris Agreement for the Harmony of Nature, People and Planet

Coming Up Soon: The Terra Carta Accelerator: A seven-year transition plan for a more sustainable future.

Press Release from the King: December 12, 2023

As Strategic Partner for COP28, Business and Philanthropy Climate Forum, Sustainable Markets Initiative Expanded Focus on Industry Transition with Global Leaders to Align Industry, Finance, and Country Roadmaps.

Sustainable Markets Initiative’s Terra Carta: King Charles III, as Prince of Wales, launched the Terra Carta at the One Planet Summit in January 2021. The Terra Carta serves as the MANDATE for the Sustainable Markets Initiative and provides a practical roadmap for acceleration towards an ambitious and sustainable future; one that will harness the power of Nature combined with the transformative power, innovation, and resources of the private sector. The Terra Carta is supported by the 56 members of the Commonwealth, C40 Cities and the United Kingdom’s 13 Core Cities.

Sustainable Markets Initiative Provides Terra Carta Accelerator Initiative Update

London, United Kingdom: In May 2023 the Sustainable Markets Initiative launched its Terra Carta Accelerator initiative, that includes a fund with a goal to reach £50 million (c.US$62 million) in private financing for nature and biodiversity projects and companies. Today (December 1) at COP28, the not-for-profit shared it has increased its funding goal to US$125 million. Sustainable Markets Initiative also announced that Pollination, a Global Climate and Nature Investment and Advisory firm, has been appointed as General Partner of the fund. Additionally, White & Case, a global law firm, is acting as legal advisors to the Sustainable Markets Initiative for the Terra Carta Accelerator initiative. The Terra Carta Accelerator initiative is being developed in response to King Charles III’s challenge to the Sustainable Markets Initiative to develop five land-based and five water-based initiatives per year through 2030.

In his former role as The Prince of Wales, King Charles III launched the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) at Davos in January 2020. The SMI is a network of global CEOs across industries working together to build prosperous and sustainable economies that generate long-term value through the balanced integration of natural, social, human, and financial capital. These global CEOs see themselves as the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ helping to lead their industries onto a more ambitious, accelerated, and sustainable trajectory.

On December 11, 2017, Tel Aviv Affirmed Prince Charles' Global Leadership in Taking Climate Action by Joining C40 Cities.

Tel Aviv has become one of the most important global hubs and is in a critical period of urban transformation and joined C40 climate leaders by committing to the actions needed to deliver on the goals of the Paris Agreement of 2015.

COP28 Purpose Statement by King Charles’ Business and Philanthropy Forum

We acknowledge the science that demonstrates that urgent and concerted action must be taken collectively and collaboratively across public, private and philanthropic sectors, to address the devastating impacts of climate change and Nature degradation.

We accept that governments simply do not have the capacity to tackle the climate and biodiversity crisis on their own. The world needs the capital, innovation and expertise of the private sector if we are to rapidly scale FROM BILLIONS TO THE TRILLIONS on an annual basis.

We observe that the countries and peoples, including indigenous peoples, most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and biodiversity loss are the least responsible for it. Alongside governments, the private sector has a responsibility to these peoples. This includes ensuring a just, inclusive and sustainable transition, addressing the human development challenges of today, and helping to build a more resilient and prosperous tomorrow.

We are fully aware that achieving a sustainable future must leave no one behind. Our economies and societies are deeply interdependent, meaning that the accelerating the transition of industries and flow of sustainable finance must include all UN member states.

We recognize that those closest to the challenges are often closest to the solutions, which is why global financing and funding mechanisms must be accessible, affordable and targeted towards unlocking local solutions developed by local communities.

We further note that many emerging and developing economies are looking for ways to move beyond debt and dependency towards unrestricted economic growth. Here the private sector has a significant role to play.

We are deeply conscious that a just and equitable energy transition is urgent and vital to the successful transition of all industries in all countries – if we slow down here, we slow down everywhere.

We realize that the public, private and philanthropic sectors all must play to their respective strengths. This requires us to clearly define our unique value propositions and to embrace our respective responsibilities. Only by being mutually reinforcing can we leverage our collective assets and generate the multiplier effect at the scale required.

We are guided by the world’s indigenous peoples who remind us that WE MUST BE THINKING SEVEN GENERATIONS AHEAD and that we, as the human species, are in fact an intrinsic part of the circle of Nature As private sector leaders, we affirm our commitment to achieving global climate, biodiversity and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) targets as endorsed by UN member states.

Therefore, to Deliver on our Shared Global Targets we Commit to:

• Supporting an annual Business and Philanthropy Climate Forum alongside the world leaders’ summit at every UNFCCC COP until at least 2030. This Forum will serve as the foundation for the private sector to: enhance alignment of industry, finance and country roadmaps; conduct an annual industry-by-industry assessment on progress; and, raise the bar on ambitions, including alignment with science-based targets.

• Engaging in private sector diplomacy and the creation of innovative private sector mechanisms to support cross-border transition efforts, including blended finance and trade instruments.

• Demonstrating the moral courage required as decision-makers to boldly lead the transition to a sustainable, just, and prosperous future.

• Adopting an authentic sustainable orientation, embedding sustainability in business models, decisions, and actions.

• Investing in sustainability-aligned research, development, commercialization, technology, and innovation alongside youth and supporting the green, sustainably focused jobs of the future.

• Aligning country, industry, and financial roadmaps. Moving together, create efficiencies and economies of scale that will enable collective progress and accelerate sustainable transitions.

• Showcasing game-changing entrepreneurs, technologies and solutions that are emerging around the world. At the same time, remove barriers that are impeding progress in deployment and scale-up of these technologies.

• Bringing sustainable markets from niche to norm by reimagining mandates, project pipelines, financial structuring, and models of return. In this way entirely new sustainable industries, products, services, and supply chains can be created, while in parallel helping to transition and transform existing systems to a more sustainable trajectory.

• Building conservation and Nature-based solutions into the asset base, supply chains, and disclosures.

• Addressing market challenges and helping reorient economic subsidies, financial incentives, and regulations in support of global climate, biodiversity, and UN SDG targets across all industries.

• Adopting common standards, metrics, working definitions and traceability within, and wherever possible, across industries.

• Reviewing this purpose statement on an annual basis to ensure ongoing relevance in a rapidly changing global context.

Be Aware of the King’s Speech

There’s not much we can rely on anymore to happen year-to-year, without question, but one standby on Christmas Day for the royal family is this: The King’s Speech (formerly, for 70 years, the Queen’s Speech) will air at 3 p.m. U.K. time on December 25. This year, it seems, King Charles has gone rogue with the speech, with Tatler reporting that Charles penned it without the help of advisors and that it will be more extemporaneous, the outlet reports.

The Daily Mail writes that “The King has learnt that he speaks best when he does so as off-the-cuff as possible, a talent he learnt relatively late in life.” Though we don’t yet know what he will say, exactly, contenders for inclusion are his Coronation (which happened in May), the CONFLICT IN GAZA, and CLIMATE CHANGE, which is one of Charles’ chief concerns as a devoted environmentalist.

His speech will be at 10:00 a.m. Christmas Day on the East coast of America …  so … when is the rapture? Popcorn

December 25th, or New Year’s Eve (as the world parties and gets drunk?) or sooner or …… ?

@geri9  I know we always look to the Jewish feasts and festivals, and they do all point to Christ.  But to the world, if Christians left on Christmas, that would be a powerful signal that Christ is the true Messiah!

Good morning. I know it's nothing on a big scale but this morning walking the dog, like every morning, a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky in front of me. A true sign, Biblically, of God's love and rescue. Pic is attached. Just very unique morning. No rain, morning sun, then while I'm talking with the Lord the rainbow appeared. Felt special. In light of watching events I'm always looking for signs. While it may not be a 3 day or 7 day warning of the rapture, it felt like God saying "I'm here". And can't help but draw from Noah themes.

I've been watching a long time and a viewer on this site for years.

From Craig Bong's Facebook page:

Beware of the king who exalts himself. This contender for all Abrahamic faiths etc, gives his antichrist Christmas address. What comes next is his 7-year Terra Carta Accelerator, beginning with ten principles for 2024, promised before the end of the year.

@blue

Thanks for posting his speech!   He missed what the true meaning of Christmas is all about and instead pushing “good will” doing good to others but also tying in his agenda of worshipping the earth/created things.  Still keeping the green agenda under radar of his climate change rules … so does Craig feel they are announced around New Years Eve?  So is that when we leave?

@geri9 I had the impression from his Facebook page that he thinks they will be announced before the weekend. As for when he thinks the rapture is, he just says to watch.

In another post Craig says: the 10 principles added for each year for the next seven years through 2030 have not been yet given. This strengthens the Terra Carta and COP28 as per the press release December 1st and May 5th. No date is given for it but that means we must keep watching as we are still “in the season”. In any case, when it appears all hope is lost, then that is the moment-the hour in which we think not.
