Why didn’t the Secret Service take any action? How could they be sure that the incident was innocuous? President Trump was facing a gaggle of reporters and fielding a question on Friday about Gaza when a reporter bumped his face with a boom microphone. The reporter immediately says “I’m so sorry,” but Trump pauses and gives her a long, intense look. It was an embarrassing accident by a clumsy reporter, and that’s that, right? Well, maybe. Or maybe not. It was a simple mistake, a trivial matter. And yet some people pointed out the obvious: what if it was something more insidious than that? Utah’s outspoken Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) asked: “Was the microphone jab intentional?” One commenter on X said: “Maybe it was laced with poison? That was so odd.” Another added: “The boom mike operator did not look Bulgarian; yet Trump could be checked for any traces of radioactive isotopes or signs of ricin, IF an abundance of caution was in play. On a serious note, there should be NO close contact with the president nor his breathing space (HCN).” In the same vein, another said: “Here’s what I don’t understand. What if that boom was poisoned. Like fentynol [sic] or something else. Why didn’t secret service immediately take the boom and person responsible and rush the president to safety?? I mean anything is possible with everything going on. Truly worrisome.” Indeed, why didn’t the Secret Service take any action? How could they be sure that the incident was innocuous? The media has ready and easy access to President Trump, who has already survived two assassination attempts. How carefully is their equipment checked before they get close to him? How carefully are the journalists themselves searched? These days the rhetoric of the left, always incendiary, has become hysterical in its rage ... Is it really inconceivable that some far-left ideologue who got a job in one of the left’s propaganda organs would seize upon an opportunity to end the life of the man whom the left portrays as the mortal enemy of all that is good? Even if the boom mic incident on Friday was a complete accident, and entirely innocuous, it indicates what could happen, and could happen all too easily. It should be taken seriously on that basis. Trusted personnel in the Secret Service need to undertake a fast and thorough review of the security procedures for journalists who get to speak to the president face to face. Those procedures need to be tightened up. Immediately. https://worldisraelnews.com/journo-bumps-trump-with-boom-mic-what-was-that-all-about/ U.S. President Donald Trump will sign an executive order Thursday that fulfills a key campaign promise of shutting down the Department of Education. According to a White House summary seen by Reuters, the move ensures the department – called “a big con job” by Trump – is no more. The plan is to shift much of the department’s duties to the states, where curricula is determined, as well as other agencies. Trump’s new education secretary, Linda McMahon, has defended the president’s initiative achieving what would be his first shutdown of a cabinet-level agency. The Trump administration has already been gutting the agency, as Breitbart News reported. Its workforce is being slashed in half and there have been deep cuts to the Office for Civil Rights and the Institute of Education Sciences, which gathers data on the nation’s academic progress, much to the anger of Democrat opponents. According to Reuters, the order directs McMahon to, “take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Department of Education and return education authority to the States, while continuing to ensure the effective and uninterrupted delivery of services, programs, and benefits on which Americans rely.” A series of swatting incidents targeting conservative commentators and journalists have transpired nearly every evening since March 11, according to X posts in which the victims shared video surveillance footage and photos of the events, sparking questions as to who is engaging in what Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) called “domestic terrorism and attempted murder.” FBI Director Kash Patel, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem have also reacted to the wave of dangerous crimes. The term “swatting” refers to an anonymous attacker targets someone by making a false call to emergency services — using anonymous tools like Google Voice or VPNs to make it appear the call is coming from a certain location — and telling authorities a murder or hostage event is transpiring at a particular address. Swatting is designed to prompt SWAT teams to arrive at the targeted home and descend on unsuspecting victims, which in the past has lead to deadly encounters and murder charges for the offender. The president was taking questions from reporters at the Oval Office when he was told by Peter Doocy of Fox News that the formerly stranded astronauts would not be paid overtime despite being stuck in space for 286 days. Doocy reported that the astronauts would only receive $5 per day in extra pay, which would amount to $1,430. "Well, nobody's ever mentioned this to me. If I have to, I'll pay that out of my own pocket, OK? I'll get it for them," Trump said in response. "... That's not a lot for what they had to go through." https://www.theblaze.com/news/trump-astronauts-pocket-pay-overtime U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said that a federal judge who blocked the Trump administration from invoking the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to remove illegal immigrants has “no right” to ask questions on flights carrying deported individuals. U.S. District Judge James Boasberg had given the Trump administration until Tuesday to respond to his questions about deportation flights carrying alleged members of the Tren de Aragua gang, which was designated by the administration as a foreign terrorist organization last month, over the past weekend following an order that he issued to suspend deportations after the administration invoked the 1798 law. He extended the deadline for another day, giving the government until Thursday to respond. But Bondi told Fox News on Wednesday that such questions are inappropriate and that the judge has “no right” to ask those questions and “no power” to order the government to return those flights back to the United States, adding that she believes “liberal” judges are issuing orders on matters they have no jurisdiction over. “They’re meddling in foreign affairs. They’re meddling in our government,” she told the outlet. “And the question should be, why is a judge trying to protect terrorists who have invaded our country over American citizens?” In court papers submitted Wednesday, the DOJ said it was considering invoking the “state secrets privilege” to allow the government to withhold some of the information sought by the court. “The underlying premise of these orders ... is that the Judicial Branch is superior to the Executive Branch, particularly on non-legal matters involving foreign affairs and national security. The Government disagrees,” DOJ lawyers wrote. “The two branches are co-equal, and the Court’s continued intrusions into the prerogatives of the Executive Branch, especially on a non-legal and factually irrelevant matter, should end.” Californis Governor Gavin Newsom announced Friday that the State of California will launch methane-detecting satellite sensors at a cost of $100 million — while it is borrowing over $6 billion to fill shortfalls in its health care system. The Golden State is out of cash, and its Medicaid system, Medi-Cal, is reportedly insolvent thanks to Newom’s decision to expand free health care to illegal aliens. The state is also reeling from wildfires, homelessness, and crime. Yet Newsom, who recently launched his own podcast, believes that the state has enough money to fund the launch of satellite sensors to track the local release of methane, a greenhouse gas, in an effort to reduce global emissions. Ironically, California has emitted six times more carbon dioxide than any other state in the Union over the past 17 years, thanks to wildfires that have burned out of control partly due to the state’s failure to clear brush in forests. Newsom announced the satellite launch as a dig against the Trump administration over climate change — even as he is also counting on President Donald Trump and the Republicans to provide $40 billion in aid for the California fires. From the video, via Wall Street Apes: Mike Benz on Joe Rogan: “This was a scandal during the Obama USAID era. We were running a number of rogue USAID operations in Cuba at the time. — I’m simply showing the American people where your tax dollars are going and how these things are structured in order to systematically fool you and to fool Congress and to fool the White House: — USAID pumped $1.2 billion in, and we sponsored these activist groups and these civil society organizations to learn how to use Facebook, learn how to use Twitter, lose, learn how to use hashtags, learn how to coordinate street protests so that everyone knows where to go, what street to show up on, what kind of slogans to know, to use in order to create the pro-democracy predicate for it.” He talks about how Obama funded a Twitter clone that would be used to push propaganda in Cuba to inspire these protests and overthrow the government (Mike Benz explains how Barack Obama overthrew many governments) ...you have to make it look like it’s coming from the Cubans if you’re going to do this operation. They started running this in 2010 which right during the Arab Spring. They were using USAID funds that were designated to Pakistan. ...the whole point is, once they hit a critical mass, they would create ‘Rent-a-Riots”. “You’re using Cayman Islands bank accounts. You’re saying it’s, you’re earmarking it for Pakistani aid.” But the money was never sent to Pakistan, it was sent to the Cayman Islands to fund this whole operation. And it goes back to Barack Obama. Now you know why Democrats are losing it after President Trump shut down USAID. It’s the Democrat Party’s slush fund. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/03/huge-barack-obama-was-using-usaid-pretend-send/ Obama’s school lunch program, officially part of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act (HHFKA), was signed into law in 2010. It was nearly universally hated for the gross meals it served to students. The former first lady discussed the program during an interview with Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, released Thursday. A 2014 National School Boards Association survey found that 83% of districts reported student dissatisfaction, with many kids tossing the healthier options straight into the trash. According to a new statewide survey from DecipherAi, conducted by veteran pollster David Wolfson, a staggering 48% of likely California voters are now open to voting for a Republican governor in 2026. That’s right—nearly half the state is ready to ditch the Democrats’ stranglehold on power. That opportunity may be closer than anyone expected. California’s Republican voter registration sits at just 25%, but a near-majority now says they’re willing to cross party lines if it means real change. “Voters are increasingly concerned about the direction of California under one-party rule,” said Owen Brennan, president of Madison McQueen. “On issue after issue, voters are seeing their quality of life fall and their cost of living rise.” From 1840-1856 the Whigs enjoyed a political posturing that gave them power. Americans voted a Whig into the White House (1840 and 1848). Some of the most prominent political voices in the early 1800’s were Whigs (Henry Clay, Daniel Webster and Abraham Lincoln). Dave Roos remarks, “But for all of their prominence and power, the Whigs couldn’t keep it together…the Whig party experienced a meteoric political rise that was rivaled only by its abrupt and total collapse.” Former Whig member William Seward (Lincoln’s Secretary of State), pronounced the party’s eulogy in 1855: “Let, then, the Whig party pass. It committed a grievous fault.” “It’s remarkable how fast it all fell apart for the Whigs. From right before the 1852 election thinking they were in good shape, to 1854 being clearly obsolete and in 1855 literally going out of business.” First, the Whigs compromised and erased moral guardrails. Respect for the intrinsic value of human life was “compromised.” Historically the “Great Compromise of 1850” was applauded for its “fairness.” Second, violence was urged and justified by a radical element of the Whigs identified as the “Know Nothings.” Third, upheavals in political party leadership. History records that prominent members left the Whig Party because of its radicalism. Fourth, the Whig Party lost connection with the common citizen. The Whigs removed themselves from being the voice OF the people and became the voice TO the people. Fifth,...obsessive hatred focused on one person. The whigs hated Andrew Jackson.... In the 1800’s it was “Old Hickory bad!” and has now morphed to “Orange Man bad!” Here is an excellent observation: Roger Gitlin, “Today the Party of the working man has become the Party of the non-working class. The Democrats have devolved to become the Party of moochers, leeches, and victims. Democrats—Take heed as history is repeating itself! https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/03/kachelman-todays-democrats-are-redux-whigs/ Journo bumps Trump with boom mic — What was that all about?
