Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows unilaterally ruled that former President Donald Trump is unqualified to appear on the 2024 primary ballot despite lacking a law degree and substituting YouTube videos for due process. CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig said Thursday on Anderson Cooper 360 that Bellows’ decision to bar Trump from the ballot was based on “YouTube clips, news reports” and “things that would never pass the bar in normal court.” A ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court in the Colorado case would likely settle the issue in Maine and other Section 3 cases across the country. PALM BEACH, Florida — Former President Donald Trump ripped Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration for allowing what Trump calls an “invasion” at the U.S. border with Mexico, something the former president likened to a “migration of civilization into our country.” Trump thinks Biden got rolled by Mexico—something he says he would have never let happen when he was president. Trump told Breitbart News that when he took office in January 2017 after eight years of Democrat Barack Obama in the White House, there were many people streaming across the border. But Trump was able to significantly cut the flow down with deals like Remain-in-Mexico and other agreements with Northern Triangle countries in Central America—in addition to things like the implementation of Title 42 and the end of catch-and-release policies. But.now that Biden is in there, and because of the fact he ripped up Trump’s policies immediately upon taking office, Trump says now there is an “invasion” and a “migration of civilization into the country” unlike any other in world history. Trump also repeatedly pointed out his belief that many of the people coming in are from mental institutions worldwide, and that some are even terrorists. "Take a look at the mental institutions all throughout the world. They’re empty. Some are literally empty and some are down 50, 60, 70 percent. They’re all here.” Trump told Breitbart News that he believes the border is becoming a real problem for Democrats and for Biden heading into next year, too, as it becomes more of a story that they cannot hide from the broader public. He also pointed to the continued stream of migrant caravans—including the latest big one forming in Mexico—as something that grabs the nation’s attention. “I think by the time he finishes, it’s going to be 15 million people—which is going to be in 11 months,” Trump said. “That is bigger than New York State. Many of those people are from prisons. Many are from jails. There’s a slight distinction. Many are from mental institutions and insane asylums. Many are terrorists. Did you see in 2019 I had no terrorists? Not one terrorist came in. They didn’t find any. He also hosted Chinese president Xi Jinping there early in his presidency, and regularly held meetings with other world leaders, such as those from Caribbean countries, as well as with U.S. lawmakers. When Biden goes on vacation, though, Trump said he hears that he refuses to take phone calls and refuses to meet anyone—he just totally and completely checks out and makes himself unavailable for weeks on end. “This guy takes a vacation and he doesn’t talk to anybody,” Trump said. “They say, ‘He’ll call you in two or three weeks because he’s on vacation.’ Did you know that? People call him and they say he’ll try getting back to you in the next two to three weeks because he’s on vacation.” A report this weekend noted that in 2023 alone Biden spent 138 days on vacation. . . . That means the president spent more than a third—a total of 37 percent—of the past year not doing work. Over the course of his entire presidency, according to the Republican National Committee (RNC) as Breitbart News previously reported, Biden has spent a whopping 417 days—or 39 percent of the time since he took office on Jan. 20, 2021—on vacation. Biden declared this giant pay raise on his own hook for more than two million government workers by issuing his Dec. 21 “Executive order on the adjustments of certain rates of pay,” which affects the “the rates of basic pay or salaries of the statutory pay systems.” As maintained in his fiscal 2024 budget proposal revealed last March, Biden has now implemented a 4.7 percent across-the-board hike in basic pay, according to the website Government Executive. He is also preparing to give the military a 5.2 percent pay raise. So, the optics of this pay raise for government workers is at the very least politically tone-deaf. There were no arrests, as insurrectionists were allowed to linger in the chamber. The disruption was staged by three so-called “Jewish” groups whose claim to Jewish identity is never verified and who, at best, represent a radical fringe of the American Jewish community. Two of the three groups have a history of support for terrorism. Protesters sang “cease-fire now” as lawmakers began leaving the chamber, although a few lingered on the floor and in the back of the room. None of the California Highway Patrol sergeants who provide security at the Capitol removed or arrested any of the demonstrators, who continued singing and chanting to a largely empty room. They remained even after the lights in the Assembly chamber were shut off after the adjournment, continuing to sing while turning on their cell phone flashlights. The most common charge against those who entered the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, was “obstructing an official proceeding.” No such charges will be brought against the insurrectionists in Sacramento, though they did the same. CNN is reporting that ‘voters’ want Trump off the 2024 ballot in Massachusetts and Illinois, but by using the vague term ‘voters’ they are actually obscuring one of the most important aspects of the story. Just how many ‘voters’ are they talking about? It’s a classic trick the media uses to advance a narrative they like. Make it sound like the issue is supported by a majority by burying the actual numbers somewhere in the report. Just a cursory examination of the facts here shows that the petitions in both states are not a grassroots voter movement, but instead a coordinated attack from one far-left activist group, Free Speech for People (yes, we laughed at the irony of the group’s name too).
