McCoy’s manager reportedly checked the worker’s GPS and discovered he deviated from his route. In total, McCoy disposed of over 1,000 pieces of mail, including 400 political mailings and at least one election ballot. McCoy’s co-worker then discovered the items. The Department of Defense (DOD) is facing significant backlash after releasing DOD directive 5240.01, which took effect on September 27. The Biden-Harris administration’s latest DoD directive has been accused of authorizing the U.S. military to use lethal force against American citizens. The directive gives the Pentagon authority to approve “assistance in responding with assets with potential for lethality, or any situation in which it is reasonably foreseeable that providing the requested assistance may involve the use of force that is likely to result in lethal force, including death or serious bodily injury.” Former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently spoke out against the Pentagon directive, saying, “The Biden-Harris administration has done something two weeks ago that has never been done in American history, which is to send a directive to the Pentagon changing the law to make it legal for the U.S. military to be used to use lethal force against American citizens on American soil.” Kennedy added, “Under this directive, it will become legal for the U.S. military to shoot and kill Americans who engage in political protest because they disagree with policies in the White House.” Following significant pushback on social media, the Pentagon denied accusations that lethal force could be used on U.S. citizens. Around 5:30 a.m. on Monday, police began working tirelessly to put out a fire in a ballot box near a bus station in Vancouver, Washington. Video of their efforts shows crews toiling in the pouring rain as the contents of the ballot box were reduced to ashes. Clark County auditor Greg Kimsey described the incident as "heartbreaking." "It’s a direct attack on democracy," he added. Police likewise described the device as "suspicious." Sadly, the drop box in Vancouver was not the only one in the area to be hit. About two hours before the incident in Vancouver, an "incendiary device" exploded in a drop box in Portland, a press release from the Portland Police Bureau indicated. Portland, Oregon, is located about 10 miles south of Vancouver, Washington. A man also allegedly admitted to lighting a fire in a ballot box in Phoenix last week, destroying perhaps 20 ballots, as Blaze News previously reported. The suspect denied having any political motivation, claiming instead that he "wanted to be arrested."
