California has not elected a Republican governor since Arnold Schwarzenegger’s re-election in 2006 and has not had a GOP statewide officeholder since 2011. With 61 candidates on the primary ballot, the Democratic vote is splintered across multiple well-known figures. Rep. Ilhan Omar has dramatically revised financial disclosures that previously showed multimillion-dollar assets, now claiming the figures were the result of an “accounting error.” The far-left Somali Democrat, who regularly demands that lawmakers raise taxes on the super-rich, had reported assets between $6 million and $30 million in a prior filing. Yet according to The Wall Street Journal, an amended disclosure now places total assets at just $18,004 to $95,000. The sharp drop follows scrutiny over the sudden jump in reported wealth. Further crunching the numbers, means about 260,000 babies would not have qualified for citizenship under Trump’s executive order. Analysts of the trend say there is an impact behind those numbers. “Under the current erroneous birthright citizenship interpretation, these children automatically become citizens and unlock food stamps, welfare, specialized schooling for English education, and eventually college aid,” Brandy Perez Carbaugh of the Heritage Foundation told the New York Post. The right of birthright citizenship was granted in the 14th Amendment adopted in 1868. It was adopted following the Civil War as part of a Reconstruction program to “guarantee equal civil and legal rights to Black citizens,” according to the National Archives, ensuring former slaves were to be considered citizens. The Department of Justice (DOJ) argued before the high court that the amendment was never intended to apply to everyone who had a child while in the U.S. and was intended for the former slaves. The Supreme Court is expected to issue a ruling on the matter in late June or early July. According to a recent report at Campus Reform, “Left-wing activists are paying canvassers to promote a Democrat-led redistricting effort on Virginia college students, according to a recent job posting.” The goal would be to support a Democrat plot to “support a gerrymandering referendum in the upcoming election.” “Monica Rudolph, a member of Virginia Tech’s College Republicans chapter, expressed her belief that Democrats are attempting to deceive college students into supporting their gerrymandering efforts in a statement to Campus Reform.” The current Democratic Party thrives on cheating and disenfranchising voters in order to win. Winning at any cost seems to be their political philosophy. As one student pointed out, “They have all the votes they need as is.” We will see what happens with this left-wing initiative, but regardless, we see yet again how low the left will go to gain power.
