“Transgender activists have pushed their own ideological extremism,” reads a new op-ed from the New York Times. Yes, you read that right. This is not a Fox News chyron, a tweet from Libs of TikTok, or an excerpt from “Do No Harm,” The Daily Caller’s groundbreaking documentary on the pediatric transgender crisis. No, this is the most respectable liberal paper in the country calling out its own readers for being insane. The multi-thousand-word piece by opinion columnist Pamela Paul ran on Friday, sounding the alarm on the irreparable damage done to children — and to the credibility of the medical establishment — in the name of gender ideology. It addresses virtually every conservative concern that has fallen on deaf ears since doctors, politicians, school teachers and affluent, liberal parents all decided it was in the best interest of children to pump them full of cross-sex hormones and surgically mutilate them. Perhaps most shockingly of all, it chastises the radical left for its role in fomenting the hysteria. The piece focuses on the medical journey of several “detransitioners,” former transgender people who decided to revert to their actual gender, often in the face of fierce opposition. Typically, detransitioners are attacked by rabid activists as right-wing pawns, but the Times sympathetically profiles their ostracism and silencing” at the hands of activists and gender clinics alike. Adams believes that the city’s massive crime problem can be solved by going soft on criminals. Instead, he places the blame on alleged white racism. Weak-on-crime Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office will not seek jail for anything short of murder or certain types of deadly assault. Nothing illustrates the lack of respect for existing laws more than Joe Biden’s open-border policy, which ignores federal immigration law. His policy has been supported by “sanctuary cities” that behave as though federal law does not apply to them. Biden is merely following in Obama’s footsteps by turning the Justice Department and FBI against American citizens. He is sending a message that anything goes in the pursuit of power, from weaponizing the justice system against his political opponents to rigging elections. Finally, consider the double standard in law enforcement. Democrats and Republicans receive very different treatment from the legal system. Hundreds of violent demonstrations driven by Black Lives Matter in the aftermath of the George Floyd case in 2020 went unpunished while nonviolent January 6 protesters — Republicans — have been arrested and denied due process. A Home Office whistleblower has claimed that the UK government department urged staff to celebrate “World Hijab Day” while claiming that the Islamic headdress is a “personal choice”, despite its own refugee guidance stating that many women face “persecution” for refusing to wear the religious garb and are therefore entitled to asylum status in Britain. An email reportedly sent to civil servants from the Home Office’s Islamic Network (HOIN), a group of Muslim volunteers among the department’s staff, extolled the virtuous aspects of the Islamic Hijab, claiming that it was “brought to women as a way of protection” and that it was not the case that men force women into wearing the headdress but rather that “many Muslim women choose to wear the hijab for various reasons, and mainly to grow closer to their faith and Allah.” The Home Office staffer who disclosed the email went on to reveal that civil servants were even encouraged to celebrate “World Hijab Day”, even though the Home Office itself classifies the forceable “compliance with religious codes or dress” amounted to “persecution” that could be used by women to claim asylum in the UK. Some called it the “Rave at the Nave,” but others use terms like “sacrilege” to describe two ’90s-themed silent discos held at one of the United Kingdom’s oldest cathedrals. The beautiful interior of Canterbury Cathedral looked more like a vintage ’90s-era nightclub than a revered place of worship on Thursday night. Dozens of revelers jumped up and down with glow sticks while listening to beats on their headphones. Given the cathedral’s historic and modern place of importance, The Dean of Canterbury, the Very Reverend Dr. David Monteith, assured the public that the disco was “categorically not a ‘rave in the nave,’” and would be “appropriate to and respectful of the cathedral.” These assurances did not reassure the faithful protesting outside the cathedral on Thursday or the others who signed a petition to stop the event. According to the petition, which as of Friday had garnered 1,779 signatures, the disco will have the opposite effect of bringing young people to the church. “It will not bring young people closer to Christ, rather it will send the message that Christ and His Church, and all the truth, beauty and goodness it has to offer, are unimportant,” the petition read. “That entertainment deserves our attention more than God. That Christians do not take their faith or their holy places seriously. “That Christianity is a lame joke.” Appeals to the history and sanctity of the cathedral did not sway church leadership, who insisted that the revelers be allowed to discover Canterbury “on their own terms.”
