The Presbyterian Church of the United States of America, an umbrella group representing churches across the country claiming over 1.7 million members, passed several anti-Israel resolutions including one that labeled Israel an apartheid state and compared Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians to the Nazi’s genocidal treatment of the Jews.

Earthquakes in Kershaw County believed to be the longest period in SC history, SCEMD says:

Geology officials say the continued swarm of earthquakes in Kershaw County may be the longest period of successive earthquake activity in South Carolina's recorded history.  An earthquake swarm is a sequence of seismic events occurring in a local area within a relatively short period of time.

According to the division, the swarm began on December 27, 2021, with a magnitude 3.3 earthquake centered near Elgin.  Since then, 44 low-magnitude earthquakes have occurred in the Elgin-Lugoff area, with the strongest being a magnitude of 3.6 on Wednesday.

Seismologists believe these low-magnitude quakes are not indicators of larger earthquakes to come.  The length of time over which they are occurring is what makes these distinctive.

The epicenter of the largest earthquake ever recorded along the eastern United States seaboard was just outside of Charleston on August 31, 1886.

The 7.3 magnitude quake devastated the region and was felt from Chicago to Cuba.

Native Americans Tell Democrats to Back Off on Building Their Abortion Mills on Tribal Lands:

Democrat thought leader AOC and “Pocahontas” Warren are calling for the federal government to set up abortion mills on federal lands including Indian tribal lands.  The idea is spreading around Democrat circles.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren is now suggesting that the Biden Admin put abortion tents on Federal land in banned states. They should put outposts on the edges of National parks!

Representatives for some Indigenous tribes tell Axios they have no plans to set up abortion clinics on their lands and would take offense at any non-Native Americans, including progressives, telling them what to do.

A recent study done at Brigham Young University shows that having a sister has positive and long-lasting impacts – particularly on social skills – that stretch far into adulthood. All those fights and frustrations will pay off one day, if they haven’t already.

The study involved around 400 families with more than one child, at least one of them between the ages of 10 and 14 years old. The results were published in the Journal of Family Psychology in 2010. They showed that having a sister promoted positive mental health, including a greater capacity to empathize, communicate and – not surprisingly – resolve conflicts.

“If siblings get in a fight, they have to regulate emotions. That’s an important skill to learn for later in life.”

However much sisters might get under each other’s skin, no one can deny that life is not as lonely or boring with a sibling around. Previous research has shown that girls talk more than boys. This means having a sister is especially important when it comes to talking out life’s problems.

The study at Brigham Young University showed that brothers who grew up with one or more sisters are better at communication with women in general.

Also, later in life, after the parents have passed away, sisters “often do more to keep families in contact with one another,” said Alex Jensen, a BYU professor and the study’s co-author.

The next time you find yourself fighting with your sister over one thing or another, remember it’s just a little bump in the road. And you’ll be on that journey together for the rest of your lives. You can take comfort in knowing that you’ll always have someone who loves you, who can laugh over childhood memories, and ultimately will make you a better person.
