U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee announced on Sunday that the United States will soon be breaking ground on a permanent embassy in Jerusalem. In 2018, President Donald Trump moved the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, becoming the first nation to do so. The change officially occurred on May 14, the 70th anniversary of Israel declaring its independence after the British Mandate governing the territory ended in 1948. The U.S. embassy is currently in what was America’s consulate in the city. Huckabee announced during a Sukkot reception for foreign diplomats hosted by Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion on Sunday, “We will soon be breaking ground on our property to begin the construction of the US embassy that will be our permanent home rather than being spread out all over the country,” The Jerusalem Post reported. Huckabee told Israeli media personality Menachem Toker at the event, “For 3,000 years, this has been the capital of Israel, the capital of the Jewish people, and it forever will be.” Regarding the new embassy, he noted, “It will be our permanent and forever here in Jerusalem.” Huckabee argued in June, “Without Israel, without the Jewish foundation, there would not be America. Jordan. Qatar. France. Britain. Brazil. The secretary-general himself. Different continents. Different religions. Different political systems. Not unity against terrorism, against regimes that threaten their neighbors, or around persecuted minorities or political prisoners. But unity against Israel.” On Thursday, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu walked to the podium at the United Nations General Assembly, the majority of those seated rose to their feet, not to applaud but to stage a mass walkout. The same had occurred in 2024—though it was discovered that assistants and lower-ranking individuals were deliberately brought into the room to make the exit appear more dramatic for the international cameras. As documented by UN Watch, between 2015 and 2024, the UN General Assembly has “adopted 173 resolutions against Israel”—more than double the resolutions placed against all other nations combined. The irrational hatred of the Jewish State among the nations will only increase. God told us in advance that it would happen. Israeli officials quickly announced that the bloody “brawl” aboard Flydubai Flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv on Wednesday was in fact a thwarted hijacking attempt, in which the copilot of the plane tried to knife the captain and then crash the aircraft. An Israeli official told the Jerusalem Post on Wednesday morning that “a major disaster was narrowly averted” when flight crew and passengers joined forces to subdue the knife-wielding copilot. “The growing assessment among the Israeli security establishment, including the IDF, Mossad, and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), is that the incident was intended as an act of terror,” the Jerusalem Post reported. Flight FZ1073, a Boeing 737 aircraft, departed from Dubai with 174 passengers aboard, 166 of them Israeli nationals, according to Israeli media reports. The plane went into a steep descent, suddenly dropping almost 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds, before transmitting an emergency signal. The signal initially indicated a “general emergency” before switching a code that means “unlawful interference” with the plane’s operations, and then later returned to the “general emergency” code. Fox News quoted passengers who said the crisis began when “the copilot stabbed the captain.” Eyewitnesses described “screaming, a loss of power, and blood onboard” during the struggle for control of the plane. “The co-pilot tried to murder the pilot and basically carry out a suicide attack on the plane,” one of the passengers told Agence France-Presse (AFP). According to some of the passengers, disaster was averted by brave passengers quickly joining forces with the flight crew to subdue the attacker, and by a “great miracle,” qualified pilots who were traveling as passengers were able to take control of the plane after the captain was stabbed. “The incident is under control, and all measures are currently being deployed in order to return the Israeli passengers safely to Israel,” Netanyahu’s office said after the meeting. An Israeli passenger who helped overpower the co-pilot accused of trying to crash a Tel Aviv-bound Flydubai jet recounted how he put the attacker in a chokehold before grabbing the controls of the plunging aircraft himself — an extraordinary intervention Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later hailed as heroic. “I grabbed the attacker, put him in a chokehold, and pulled him out,” Hayun said, according to Israeli news outlet Ynet. “I called the Israelis who were with us, jumped back in and pulled the controls. I started pulling them back.” “When I walked in, I saw the attacker on the instruments, between the two seats,” Hayun told Netanyahu. “There were no pilots in the seats.” Netanyahu asked Hayun what the attacker was doing. “He was trying to destroy the instruments to… neutralize the aircraft,” Hayun replied, adding that he believed the objective was “to crash the plane.” Hayun said he put the attacker in a chokehold, dragged him from the cockpit, and called other Israeli passengers forward to restrain him. With the aircraft still nose-down, he rushed back inside. “I jumped back to the control, pulled the yoke,” Hayun recalled. “I started pulling the yoke.” Hayun said two other pilots had been traveling as passengers aboard the flight, and one was able to take over after Hayun briefly pulled back on the controls. Hayun believes the wounded captain managed to unlock the cockpit door before collapsing, allowing the passengers to reach the flight deck. Other passengers described the terror unfolding in the cabin as the aircraft dove and spun out of control. “The spinning stopped. It took some — I don’t know, it felt like an eternity, but I think it was two minutes, at least two or three minutes, during which the plane was simply diving and spinning like crazy,” a passenger identified as Daniel told Israeli media. “It felt like, that’s it. It’s over. September 11 is happening again.” Israeli dentist Musaev Shota was among those who joined the effort, helping restrain and bind the suspected attacker before turning his attention to the badly bleeding captain and providing emergency treatment, according to Ynet. Netanyahu, who had earlier praised the passengers for preventing a “major disaster,” was waiting at Ben-Gurion when Hayun and the other passengers returned, embracing the bloodstained passenger after he stepped off the replacement flight. Netanyahu said the suspected attacker remained in Saudi custody and instructed Israeli security agencies to prepare for possible additional threats following the incident. The country of Anne Frank and Corrie Ten Boom, where only 25% of its Jews survived the Holocaust, has had a tremendous opportunity to redeem the past, and they are failing miserably. They have just started a ban on all imports from Judea and Samaria. Confiscation, fines, and possibly up to six years in prison are now a reality. Israeli travelers and tourists returning from Israel are currently being stopped and searched at the Amsterdam airport. More countries are involved in this move to destabilize, demonize, and delegitimize Israel while criminalizing her friends. Spain, Ireland, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Poland, Portugal and Sweden have also considered restrictions. Each country moves at the speed of its own government, fueled by its own irrational hatred of Israel, but eventually they will all line up against us (Zechariah 12:3).
