Blessings From Israel: Tel Aviv University Announces Plans Perform The World’s First Spinal Cord Transplant:

Tel Aviv University announced that the world’s first spinal cord transplant will take place in Israel, a medical breakthrough that could allow patients with paralysis to walk again.

The Jerusalem Post recently reported:

Israel is preparing to perform the first-ever human spinal cord implant using a patient’s own cells.

The surgery, expected in the coming months, will take place in Israel and marks a historic milestone in regenerative medicine. Currently, spinal cord injuries cannot be fully cured, so treatment focuses on stabilizing the patient, preventing further damage, and maximizing function....

Unlike other tissues, spinal cord neurons cannot naturally regenerate, and over time, scar tissue blocks remaining signals. The new procedure aims to replace the damaged section with a lab-grown spinal cord that fuses with healthy tissue above and below the injury. Animal studies in rats have shown remarkable results, with the animals regaining the ability to walk normally.

This isn’t the only remarkable accomplishment, but one of many wonderful contributions that Israel has given to the world. Since 1901, roughly 1,000 Nobel Prizes have been awarded, and over 200 laureates have been Jewish, recognized for contributions in physics, chemistry, medicine, physiology, literature, peace, economics, and so forth.

Israel and the Jewish people have indeed been a blessing to the world, just as God promised Abraham some 4,000 years ago in Genesis 12:2: “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing.” In the following verse, we read about the ultimate blessing, which is that all the nations of the earth would be blessed through Israel’s Messiah.

UK, Australia, and Canada Recognize Palestine as a State:

The United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia announced on Sunday they now recognize Palestine as a state, despite accusations that it would be rewarding the Islamist Hamas terrorists behind the October 7th terror attacks on Israel.

One day before the beginning of the Rosh Hashanah Jewish New Year celebrations, British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer announced that the UK would recognize Palestine statehood. The move pre-empted plans from France to back the measure this week at the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York.

Starmer denied that this would represent a “reward” for Hamas, saying that his push for a two-state solution would be the “exact opposite of [Hamas’s] hateful vision,” as it would ultimately require the terror group to give up control of Gaza.

For its part, Israel’s Foreign Ministry said in response: “Recognition is nothing but a reward for jihadist Hamas – emboldened by its Muslim Brotherhood affiliated in the UK.

“Hamas leaders themselves openly admit: this recognition is a direct outcome, the ‘fruit’ for the October 7 massacre. Don’t let Jihadist ideology dictate your policy.”

UN Schedules Gaza Meeting During Rosh Hashanah: An Unprecedented Case of Religious Exclusion:

The United Nations Security Council has sparked controversy by scheduling a critical meeting on the Gaza war during Rosh Hashanah, one of Judaism’s holiest holidays. The timing appears designed to prevent Israeli officials and observant Jews from participating in discussions about Israel’s ongoing conflict with Hamas.

According to a report by the Washington Free Beacon, the Security Council’s public calendar shows only that a “Middle East” briefing is slated for Tuesday, the first day of high-level debate at the U.N. General Assembly. However, sources familiar with the meeting revealed that it will focus specifically on the war in Gaza and was deliberately scheduled during Rosh Hashanah due to pressure from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The Jewish holiday begins at sundown on Monday and concludes at nightfall on Wednesday. Notably, the U.N. General Assembly high-level debate continues for five days after Rosh Hashanah ends, providing ample opportunity to schedule the Gaza meeting at a time when all relevant parties could participate.

Rosh Hashanah holds profound meaning in Jewish tradition as the Jewish New Year and Day of Judgment. According to Jewish belief, this is the day when the entire world is judged by God, occurring seven days after the creation of the world. For religiously observant and even moderately observant Jews, participation in work activities or official meetings is prohibited during this sacred time, making the UN’s scheduling particularly exclusionary.

Sacha Roytman, CEO of the Combat Antisemitism Movement, emphasized that this scheduling “is not an oversight” but rather “a blatant act of exclusion.” He told the Free Beacon: “It tells Jews worldwide that their faith, their holy days, and even their very presence are irrelevant. By deliberately silencing Jewish voices at the very moment when decisions about Israel—the world’s only Jewish state—are being discussed, the U.N. is sending a chilling message: that Israel and the people it represents are unwelcome at the table.”

The meeting coincides with broader efforts by Arab nations and European allies to unilaterally recognize a Palestinian state during the U.N. General Assembly, a move designed to increase pressure on Israel to end its war against Hamas without conditions. The United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia recently announced joint recognition of a Palestinian state...
