That was very sad. It was so hard to see the picture of the 3 hostages. JERUSALEM (VINnews) — A rocket fired by Hamas Friday evening during a salvo of rockets towards Jerusalem nearly landed on the Dome of the Rock, but was intercepted by Iron Dome missiles. Footage of the successful interception was taken from Temple Mount and has appeared on several Arab social media sites. The footage shows the sirens, which rang out over the entire zone of East Jerusalem, and the interception can clearly be seen above the Temple Mount. Israel’s UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan told the United Nations General Assembly that Israel had protected the Al-Aqsa Mosque, a holy site for Muslims in Jerusalem, from Hamas. Sharing his speech on X on Saturday evening, Erdan wrote, “Israel is defending Al-Aqsa Mosque from Hamas missiles‼️ “Just as ISIS destroyed mosques, Hamas-ISIS is willing to blow up Al-Aqsa. For Hamas, murdering Israelis is more important than Islamic holy sites. This is what I said today in the UN General Assembly as I showed the Iron Dome interception of a Hamas missile fired towards the Temple Mount. These are the terrorists that the UN has chosen to protect. Unbelievable !!” US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin officially announced on Monday night that the US and a host of other nations are creating a new force to protect ships that have come under attack in the Red Sea by drones and ballistic missiles from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, The Associated Press reported. “This is an international challenge that demands collective action,” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said in a statement. “Therefore today I am announcing the establishment of Operation Prosperity Guardian, an important new multinational security initiative.” The United Kingdom, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles and Spain will join the US in the new mission, Austin announced. Some of the countries will conduct joint patrols while others provide intelligence support in the southern Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The mission will be coordinated by the already existing Combined Task Force 153, which was set up in April 2022 to improve maritime security in the Red Sea, Bab el-Mandeb and the Gulf of Aden. There have been 39 member nations in CTF 153, but officials were working to determine which of them would participate in this latest effort. The Iranian-backed Houthi rebels have upped their attacks on vessels in the Red Sea since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7. Last week, the Houthi rebels threatened to attack any vessels heading to Israeli ports unless food and medicine were allowed into the Gaza Strip. Two days later, the Houthis launched a land-based cruise missile towards a Norwegian commercial tanker vessel. A senior Houthi official then warned cargo ships in the Red Sea to avoid traveling toward “occupied Palestinian territories." Egypt values its border security. Egyptian workers recently completed a 8-10 foot concrete border wall to keep out Palestinians. A security fence topped with barbed wire stands before the concrete wall. And a series of earthen berms are behind the concrete wall. Egypt is serious about its border security. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/12/egypt-completes-wall-keep-palestinians-gaza/ Israel’s Army Radio reported Tuesday that the manager of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza told interrogators that Hamas terrorists had commandeered the hospital and forced staff to do its bidding, believing that the IDF would not strike there. An interrogation tape of Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Kahlot, the manger of the hospital, apparently released by the Israel Security Agency (ISA), was the source of the report. Kahlut is seen on the video telling an interrogator that Hamas used to hide its fighters in the hospital, convinced that they would not be targeted by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Kahlut also said that hospital staff members joined Hamas, and that the hospital had effectively been transformed into a military installation for the organization, including for holding hostages. He also admitted that Hamas had used private ambulances to transport hostages and to transport the bodies of Hamas terrorists. He added that the leaders of Hamas had turned out to be “cowards” who had abandoned Palestinians to fend for themselves while they themselves hid. “They destroyed us.” As Breitbart News noted, 70 terrorists in the hospital surrendered to Israel after a firefight last week, and Israeli soldiers discovered weapons inside the hospital — including guns that were hidden inside the NICU unit.
