Palestinian Authority Refrains from Displaying U.S. Flag in Blinken Meeting: ‘Zero Respect for America’:

During a meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Authority refrained from displaying an American flag behind the U.S. official in a move that was seen as “humiliating” for the United States.

Following discussions with Israeli officials in Tel Aviv, Blinken visited Ramallah on Wednesday to meet Abbas and discuss postwar plans for Gaza.  Surrounded by aides, the two shook hands before a photo of Jerusalem’s Dome of the Rock and a Palestinian flag.

But what stood out was the absence of the U.S. flag behind Blinken, especially in contrast to the presence of the Palestinian Authority (PA) flag behind Abbas. The only semblance of an American flag that appeared was a mini one that rested on the table between the two figures.

The move stands in opposition to the common protocol of displaying flags of the nations or entities represented by the officials during such diplomatic meetings.

After the meeting, Blinken said he trusts PA President Mahmoud Abbas to “reform” the PA so that it can take over governing functions in Gaza at the end of Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists there.

Amir Tsarfati:

US Secretary of State Blinken: “The best solution to isolate Iran is for Israel to work with the countries of the region on a path to establishing a Palestinian state. The US is focused on preventing an explosion in the West Bank.”

It’s amazing how the Democrats in America are obsessed with a Palestinian state. They don’t understand that there is no way in a million years that anyone in Israel will ever agree to this after October 7th!

Five Doves KS Rajan:

For The Middle East, There Is No Turning Back Now…

There is no way to avoid an apocalyptic war in the Middle East now.  Too much has been said and done, and both sides have pushed things past the point of no return.  It won’t be too long before thousands of missiles are flying back and forth, and that is going to have enormous implications for all of us.  This war is going to look far different from anything we have ever seen in the Middle East before, and the level of death and destruction that we will witness will shock the entire globe.

On Wednesday, two massive explosions killed more than 100 people that had gathered in the Iranian city of Kerman on the fourth anniversary of Qasem Soleimani’s death…  At least 103 people were killed Wednesday and 188 injured in the Iranian city of Kerman after twin blasts near the burial site of slain military commander Qasem Soleimani, in what officials called a terror attack.

This was one of the deadliest attacks in modern Iranian history, and the Iranians are basically treating it as their own version of 9/11.

I do not believe that Israel was involved in this attack, but no matter how hard you try you will never be able to convince Iran’s leaders otherwise.  There is so much fury in Iran right now, and they will never be satisfied until they taste revenge.

I don’t think that Hezbollah was actually eager to fight a full-blown war with Israel.  But after everything that has happened, there is no way that one is going to be avoided now.

Elsewhere, western powers have issued a “final warning” to the Houthis in Yemen… I do not expect the Houthis to back down.  And so it appears that it is likely that the U.S. military will soon be striking targets inside Yemen.

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, World War III is here, and the year ahead is going to be absolutely packed with conflict.

The war in the Middle East is going to be one of the biggest stories of 2024, and it is going to be absolutely horrifying.

But there is no turning back now.

Wall Street Journal: Israel has informed Egypt that it is going to launch an operation to take over the Philadelphi corridor [at the southwest end of Gaza along the border with Egypt] very soon. This is the main oxygen pipe of Hamas, from where weapons are smuggled into the Gaza Strip, in addition to the fear of tunnels crossing into Egypt through which kidnappers and senior officials can be smuggled. Taking over the Philadelphi corridor could be a tie-breaking move.  .....

76% of Israelis support voluntary emigration of Gaza civilians 'the day after' war:

Encouraging the voluntary emigration of the Gazans at the end of the current war between Israel and Hamas has gained increasing momentum in public discussion among Israelis in recent weeks, with a recent poll revealing that a large majority of Israelis (76%) support it.

A new poll published on Thursday by the Sovereignty Movement found that, despite international criticism of the idea and its public rejection by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a huge majority of Israelis support voluntary emigration of Gaza civilians who want to live in another country.

The poll results were presented by Channel 12 news journalist Amit Segal at the beginning of an interview he conducted on stage with Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.

Smotrich explained that the Gazan population hated Israel and wouldn’t change their opinions in the foreseeable future, even with organized re-education programs that some Israeli politicians have suggested.

“Therefore we need to have the control there, and to have military control we need to be present there in a civilian way,” Smotrich said, adding: “I propose full Israeli control over the Gaza Strip… for this, we need civilian settlements.”

He added: “We won’t throw out anybody by force, no Israeli citizen could imagine this.”

Regarding the Arab population of the West Bank, Smotrich said whoever would choose a full partnership with Israel according to the Druze model could even, after several years, be offered a right to vote.

“[But] whoever thinks that he can live here, and enjoy all the prosperity and progress that we are bringing to this land… and to undermine our existence and hurt and fight, that doesn’t go together.”

Pro-Palestine protesters try to breach the security fence outside of the White House, forcing DC police to hold the fence.

If they were wearing red MAGA hats this would be all over the news.

According to reports, the fence was attacked so badly that Secret Service and the DC Police had to make repairs.  Secret Service agents are reportedly in riot gear.

Breaking: Houthi Missile Hits a US-Owned Cargo Ship in the Red Sea:

Four days after the USW and UK first air-raided the Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, the capability of the group appears to remain untouched, as the missile strikes on ships on the Red Sea have not stopped.

It now arises that a missile hit a US cargo ship in the vicinity of the Yemeni port of Aden.  “Houthi forces in Yemen struck the U.S.-owned and operated container ship M/V Gibraltar Eagle with an anti-ship ballistic missile, U.S Central Command said on Monday, although there were no reports of injuries or significant damage.”  It had been reported earlier that a ship ‘was hit from above’ by a ballistic missile while sailing 95 nautical miles southeast of Aden.

The impact caused a fire in a hold, but the reports state that the bulker remained seaworthy and suffered no injuries on board.

Two Navy SEALs Missing in the Gulf of Aden While Searching for Iranian Weapons Bound for Yemen:

Two Navy SEALs went missing after a ship-boarding operation went awry near Somalia on Thursday, as they were looking for suspected Iranian weapons bound for Yemen, according to reports.

The SEALs were preparing to board a ship in rough seas when one of them slipped from a ladder and fell into the water, according to the Washington Post. The second SEAL dove in after him. They have been missing since Thursday.

Kirby said the operation was part of “normal interdiction operations” the U.S. has been conducting for some time to try to disrupt the flow of weapons supplies to Yemen.
