With new speaker, US House passes measure backing Israel in ‘barbaric war launched by Hamas’: WASHINGTON — US lawmakers pass a resolution voicing solidarity with Israel in its war with Hamas terrorists, in their first act after electing a new speaker of the Republican-led House of Representatives. The measure, entitled “Standing with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists,” receives near-unanimous backing from Republicans and all but 10 Democrats. Specialised teams in the IDF’s engineering corps have been grouped into tunnel reconnaissance units and equipped with ground and aerial sensors, ground penetrating radar and special drilling systems to locate tunnels. They have also been issued with special equipment to see when underground.
