:mdrmdr:   Hey, I wouldn’t mind at all being a cheerleader ... just got to get some Pom Poms and will cheer to the magnificent 7 theme song!  This guy does a pretty good solo job ... reminds me of my college days ,,, only they did it with more flare/jazz ... a few more trumpets, a saxophone, tuba and drums.  What could possibly go wrong? B-)  Instead of a pep rally it sounded more like a rock concert.  It brought a huge crowd of teenagers walking the city sidewalks to stop and line up outside the campus gates looking in thinking it was a rock concert.   The Dean of Men said we like your enthusiasm but you need to tone it down ... we have a reputation to keep. :mdrmdr:

That would be pretty hard to play on a shofar, wouldn't it Geri?

I used to get into the justice those magnificent seven brought for those poor adobe dwelling peasants.  Those bad guys didn't even deserve to live!  Go in there and take em' out!!

Arthur, seems like recently you made a post about Bishop Usher and 6000 years, but I can't find it. Could you repost it?

Lol.  I am not sure where it is.  I'll have a look.

I'll try to summerize in the meantime:

If we take Bishop Usher's date of 4,004 BC as the creation of the world and say that Adam sinned when he 30, the age of entry into the Priesthood (mirroring the Second Adam Jesus Christ entering His ministry at about the age 30) then that brings us to 3974 BC.

3974 + 2020 -1 (for no year zero) = 5993 years.  Add 7 for the Tribulation and you come to 6,000 years.

Hope that helps.

For reference:

James Ussher or Usher lived from 4 January 1581 to 21 March 1656.
He was the Church of Ireland Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland between 1625 and 1656.
and he became a professor of theology in Dublin, in1621.
In speech and writing, he led a fierce battle against the Roman church and the pope, but this was also during the Reformation.  .

He was a productive teacher and church leader who today is most famous for his chronology, seeking to establish the time and date of creation as around noon. 18.00 on October 22, 4004 BC.

October 22, eh?  😉

October 22 was the date the Millerites (later some of them formed the 7th day Adventist cult) picked for the return of Jesus Christ in 1844.

I assume they got the date from Bishop Usher.

Would be kind of interesting if October 23nd ends up being the exact opposite of disappointment. :good: Might cause a few 7th day Adventists to wake up and repent.

Then if you add the 1000 year reign you come to 7000 and thus begins the jubilee of Gods rest....

FYI - with the Revelation 12 signs occurring in 2017 shall we also make note that as Jonah was 3 days, Christ was 3 days, we have now been 3 days (3 yrs as symbolic) —- just a thought in my wandering mind  :mail:

I've been checking out the video and found it quite interesting.  Of course, I didn't care for the idea of the terminal point for testing it being three years down the road.  It could work out that way, but I hope it doesn't.

Was the world created in 4004 BC?  I did my own analysis a number of years ago, and Bishop Ussher's chronology does take you back to that date.  However...that doesn't mean it's to be taken at face value.  For example, the generations in Luke, going back to Adam, include a few names not mentioned in Genesis.  Is one wrong?  No, it was just accepted practice to skip generations, as the word "begat" does not necessarily mean someone was the immediate father of that person.  The list in Luke appears to follow the Septuagint version, and has a extra names, and therefore would suggest some extra time in the history.

I will say I find the 7,000 year theory compelling, and it is an ancient concept.

The video is also based on a 365.25 day year, and Daniel and Revelation give us a 360 day year for the time, times and half a time.

I do appreciate that the makers of the video state that we may have "up to" three more years remaining, yet there is no guarantee the rapture will be delayed that long.  You'd have to adopt a "gap" theory to have the rapture before 2023, though.

Yeah David.  If it's as proposed here, I think something like a 900 day or so "gap" would be nice -- 30 months / 2.5 years, more or less.  :good:
