WKRP in Cincinnati was one of my favotites.  Howard Hesserman who played Johnny Fever died today at 81... the day the Cincinnati Bengals won.

QUOTE

In the first episode, Dr. Johnny Fever announces the station’s changeover from elevator music to rock ’n roll with a record scratch and a proclamation.

“All right Cincinnati, it’s time for this town to get down! You got Johnny, Dr. Johnny Fever, and I am burning up in here. We’re all in critical condition, babies, but you can tell me where it hurts because I got the healing prescription here from the big KRP musical medicine cabinet. Now, I am talking about your 50,000-watt intensive care unit, babies!”

UNQUOTE

A tiny irony... Cry :rose:

I really enjoyed that show when I was younger. Much better than the garbage they put out nowadays.

I am sad to hear of his death. I pray that he was reconciled to God. ?

As for the Cincinnati Bengals, they are no longer the Bungles. That was a dramatic upset of Kansas City. I won't watch the Stupid Bowl as it is an occult festival but I hope they win. :good:

I agree Arthur and I am a long time football fan, but gave it up when some of the player “took at knee” at the National Anthem … I did watch this weekend games and it was impressive, the plays awesome and truly felt like football again. The game with the Rams and 49’rs was so cool and LA took it, so Bengals and Rams - might be a good game although I think the rams will outplay the bengals, my opinion

Less to do outside when there's all that snow and cold, huh Tammie?

I still hold a grudge against the NFL generally for pretty much the same reasons as you state.  Up until the fourth quarters of both games yesterday I had probably watched a total of 15 actual minutes this entire season.  I'm probably not going to watch in two weeks.  Maybe the last part of the fourth quarter again if it's close.  Yeah, Arthur -- the Stupid Bowl occult fest.

Yes and at both games the national anthem was sung and players stood and some even had their hand over their heart — that was refreshing. But i am probably still not going to watch the bowl. I have watched very little football this year, none last year or the year before, I think 2019 was my last full football season … wonder if we will play a form of football in heaven, maybe with wings and throwing manna at each other :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr:

Let's just put our favorite jerseys on Angel's and watch them!

But God's favorite game is baseball!

First words in the bible, in the big inning!

Gave up football when I gave up TV!

:mdrmdr: :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr:  in the big inning :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr:  So I grew up in a household of baseball fanatics, when I left home, I never looked back at baseball, don’t watch it .. as a matter of fact, hardly watch anything on TV, excluding Amir, Jan, Jack, etc or the Watchman, or biblical teaching via videos …. Nothing on, truly!

Baseball so boring as like golf, with way too many games!

Although I have family members who love to golf, my personal opinion, being a country girl, is that it is a perfectly good waste of green grass and should rather be used for running barefoot, having picnics, and overall playing in the grass short of things…..
