How can we expect people to negotiate international politics or the prophetic word, when so many have not mastered the art of driving a vehicle?! I've seen some pretty dumb things in my day. People driving 25mph under the speed limit in the "fast" lane no less. Or braking through intersections which where most t-bone accidents occur! Am still surprised to find that a good portion of drivers can't tell their left from their right turn signal! Point is, many desperately lack basic life coping skills! If I am in a store and hand a clerk a quarter, a nickel, a dime and a penny, many must physically handle each coin in order to count the change! Really! We're not getting any smarter folks! So for the ability for many to track spiritual truths is sorely lacking! Simply not in their wheelhouse! Few then are able to follow complex thought patterns. Sad indeed, but telling indeed! Wonder how the Lord will then make allowances?! This world is dumb to basic living skills, yet masters of sin! TR Seems to me that a great dumbing down has been occurring for some time. Between the drug and sports culture, and the retinue of gaming, as well as shifting priorities, we have an ever growing populace of dummies. I guess this makes them more ripe for being led astray?! And yet those who follow intellectual pursuits, are primed for deception! All too disconcerting! Thank God for the unction of the Holy Spirit and His grace! TR Or a biblical scholar asking how to climb back into his mother's womb! Since leaving the Garden we have indeed been in downward spiral. Certainly only God can reveal spiritual truth! It cannot otherwise be ascertained! TR Amen TR! I just shake my head at how far we've gone away from where we were in the 60's. I remember my grandfather preaching about Heaven, Hell, Salvation, and Jesus' return. Sadly even in the church that we attend, Heaven - Hell and Jesus' return are rarely spoken of. It's becoming the church of entertainment. Entertainment doesn't buy you salvation. Time to look for a new church. Brother, I too am overwhelmed some days with what I see of the stupidity of the human race. I see a culture of depravity that comes to our acute care facility that is beyond belief. My facility sees prisoners as well as John Q Public. We are located in a very poor urban area. If it’s not related to disease, it’s related to very poor life choices, drugs, and alcohol. We treat mental health so I know demon possession is own the rise. Some days I see such depravity and self- inflicted pain, I can just shake my head in disbelief and thank God that He saved me. Indeed we are already seated in heavenly places! Works for me! John C welcome. Look forward to fellowship! TR Since covid-19, we've been seeing a lot of stupid! Though stupidity is irksome by and large, I am a stupid man disguised as someone smart! That said, I decry those that will be eternally lost for the lack of spiritual revelation and truth. And the wherewithal to humbly receive the truth of Christ! TR If stupid is as stupid does, then as Tammie points out a lot of stupid is being done! The fear of the Lord, and anything holy, righteous and good is also sorely lacking! But even in overwhelming darkness, God's light can still penetrate! I guess it comes down to how much someone hates God?! Or fears God! May the fear of the Lord increase. But that's what the judgements will attempt to accomplish! It’s not so simple anymore either, mostly because people believe in their own stupidity, you can no longer get through to them with truth. The god of this world has blinded them to the truth of the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ. People deliberately hurt themselves or family members, just unbelievable. Healthcare professionals are tired, Overly worked, stretched mentally to the limit. There seems to be an ever increasing percentage of people that create illness for themselves, than healthy individuals. Not negating the fact that accidents still occur and cause life altering damage, genetics, and disease is still key factors too! But when you have folks who seek drugs, swallow things to get out of jail into hospitals, declare health problems such as suicide or chest pain just because they want a safe place to sleep, so they pack out my ED - they manipulate the system. It is so very sad, as in the days of Noah, increased depravity abounds - a new level of crazy has indeed taken over! We need to go home! :prayer-hands:
