So what’s everyone doing today?  Any exciting plans?  Going to the beach?  BBQing the last of the remaining real beef meats?  Attending parades / fireworks show? B-)

Just chillin and grilling today for the family no big deal.  Our big shin dig was Saturday night at the neighbors - they throw a big old fashioned “block party” type 4th of July party every year and its great.  I live in a small rural community where times are like they used to be all over our country 50 years ago.

Everybody brings a dish, a dessert and thier own fireworks!  Some of the boys brought their guns and go around the back to “plink” away - some of them would give a liberal a heart attack!  But its just good ol boys and good family fun, all safe, no one gets hurt, everyone looking out for everyone.  Old folks and little kids all having a good time together.  Plenty of food, loud music blasting, a little bit of country, a little rock n roll and when the “community” fireworks show began there was enough to provide an hour long show that could compete with anything professional.

I had a good time and it helped me remember what our country used to be and should be again but it was also kind of sad because I know it probably never will be again. Nevertheless I enjoyed it and considered it might be my last such Independence day celebration - if the rapture comes this summer or fall or before next 4th of July - I hope so anyway!

Thank you to all the vets that fought and some who died for our liberties.

And here is a suggestion which I myself did this year - we often see Christian holidays like Christmas and Easter which have become so secular and no scripture is even read.  It is the same with the 4th of July, it has become so “secular”all about fireworks and hamburgers and hot dogs - and that’s ok but I encourage everyone to actually read the Declaration of Independence today and review what a Christian mindset went into our founding and the conditions that caused men to find it necessary to form a new union under God.  Its a short read and if you don’t have a copy just Google it or maybe I will copy it here later.

God bless everyone on this Independence day.

Happy 4th Y'all!

Let's see at the moment and it is 10am here, we are making homemade ice cream. We have  an electric ice cream maker in our kitchen sink. Mike is like a little boy just gazing at the cylinder going round and round.

This is also his favorite ice cream, Black Forest. It is chocolate with dark cherries in it.

As far as dinner goes, we'll probably have burgers and fries.

New Orleans has a professional fireworks show on the Mississippi River around 8pm.

:amen:  Thankful to be an American despite all the wrongs this current administration is up to.

Susan, that homemade ice cream sounds sumptuous to die for.  Remember the recipe … we will expect you to make it for the heavenly and millennium beach block parties!   B-)

Derrick, how neat to have that huge neighborhood BBQ gathering!  Sounds like you had a blast.  Ok we will need you to be in charge of the entertainment and working the BBQ grills.   I strongly lean this is our last hurrah celebration and rapture is at the doors  … cause life next month will no longer be normal …

Happy 4th of July.     I had my GGGGGG---grandfather fight in the War for Independence.  He and his 2 of his brothers left their CT farms and went off to battle.    I am a DAR member.   On my Dad's side of the family a Northern Irish lad married a gal from Maryland and they fought on both sides of the Civil War.   LOL  Family stories are great.

I can't see my grandson's generation fighting for anything other than the internet......  Really sad.

We had a community BBQ on Sat, that was nice, except people ate and ran.  Today the boat parade and concert were cancelled due to rain.

Oh today started marvelously — I sat on the front porch with family, drinking coffee and discussing the usual topics (family who are ill and others who need Jesus, Fourth of July celebrations of days gone by, the sadness of the right wing church and how that has been a hinderance to the growth of the body of Christ, the coming Rapture of the Bride, and the wars, and whatever topic came to mind for about 3 hours). Got the potato salad, baked beans, and deviled eggs ready for our Bar-b-que to begin in a bit. My daughter’s birthday is today, so the cake is ready too…. Games in the backyard (not quite like Derricks :mdrmdr: ) - corn hole, horse shoes … we will sit until the sun goes down and enjoy the last celebration of this once great nation. I have many generations of military in my family and some have given their life for this country … it is hard to bear on some days, but I too am thankful for having been born in the USA! Enjoy the day everyone and remember this is your last 4th of July for the Bride of Christ :prayer-hands:
