Okay check this out … I’m so used to eating pale yellow mass produced or cage free/free range orange … but never to the pasture raised.

So what’s considered the most nutritious egg  … cage free/free range or pasture raised?

I used to raise chickens.

How nice Yohanan ! so did my grandmother. I used to enjoy going into the chicken coop every morning looking for eggs.

Is that an ok way? Yes. The reason they stand up is because bacteria has already begun to rapidly multiply.

One of the interesting things I noticed when keeping chickens was that even though they are not the smartest of animals, God took the time to give each one a distinctive personality.

Yohanan,

So you are the expert for keeping chickens…. Wonderful — I will pick your brain if we are here past April. i had plans to get chickens this year, we have yet to build the coup or run (we have hawks, fox, deer, dogs, and even rabbits that I have to protect them from). We have watched countless YT videos on building a coup and how to keep them happy with food and water available, but have yet to start that project. In truth, I am praying we are gone very soon, like today, tomorrow, the next day, the day after that, etc…… :mdrmdr:

Kolleen, There is a YT from pioneer girl that shows how eggs can be kept for months, not refrigerated, and she mentions to get unwashed eggs but does not tell why, so I greatly appreciate Yohanan for sharing that information on the rational. :good: Smile

Geri — I have had the double yolk and I’m sorry you tossed it — makes a great omelette. The poop on cartons, really doesn’t bother me much, but then with my background, not much about bodily fluids and so forth bothers me, just put on gloves and move on :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr:

So true on many levels — our creator God makes each snow flake different, each butterfly unique and beautiful (even the brown ones), we have so many beautiful flowers (here today, gone tomorrow), that is why it is so exciting to think of the beauty of the new Jerusalem and when he makes all things new during the millennial reign. :yahoo:

Geri, thank you for the info about the egg yolk color. The few times I cracked an egg and an orange/red yolk came out, I thought something was wrong. (so used to the yellow)
