Oh that book sounds so interesting, Derrick!  I wish I had it years ago … I saw this one red berry bush on our property and thought the berries were edible. Quickly realized NOOOOOO and spit it out. Should have known because the birds didn’t touch them. :mdrmdr:     I brought up a few wild black raspberry and red raspberry bushes  from NJ and planted them and they produced mega crop each summer.  We enjoyed  them and so did the birds.  They were too big to dig up and bring to my current place.  The price of raspberries in the grocery stores now for a tiny container is untouchable.  We tried growing blueberries but they didn’t do too well.  Same with the grapevines.  The season is too short .. needed 1 more month on the vine before picking and it would always be a frost.  Not sure if people grow grapes in greenhouses?

The food bank today had seaweed professionally packaged … probably was donated from the local health food store … I was not tempted to try it but some lady said oh seaweed and grabbed a box. 🥴   There is no way I can eat bugs either even if they are covered in melted chocolate. :negative:

Oh and forgot to mention earlier today I had an interesting talk with one of the workers at the food bank.  He was an older gentleman who gives out your ticket number and check list form wish list of foods you would like.  He  followed me back to my vehicle and we got to talking while I was unloading the food … I wanted to give them back the cardboard boxes and wagon.  He said he is Baptist and I said so am I but I don’t go to church.  He said he doesn’t always attend now since his wife has died last year.   Then he said he went to seminary college in Eastern PA and his dad was a pastor, his grandfather, his and names so many relatives in his family who were preachers too.  But he didn’t want to go in the ministry … his dad forced him .. hoping he would take over his church eventually.  He said he is shy and can’t come up with sermons … he rather be kind and help people instead and that’s why he volunteers to work with the food bank.  I said well its great to be kind and helpful to people but we can’t trust in our works for salvation to get us into heaven .. Only Jesus paid the price with shedding His blood and we have to put our faith and trust in Him alone and ask Him to take away our sins.  I said please read this Bible tract  “God’s Bridge to Eternal Life” when you get home and he said he would.  So if you prayer warriors could say a prayer for him, that would be great!  Thank you.

That’s great Geri, some of the best spiritual encounters are those seemingly “random” people that God puts in our path - of course we know the wonderful tapestry He weaves and you and the other gentleman were mean to be right where you were today and he needed to hear exactly what you had to say.  I will keep him in prayer.

Thank you, Derrick for praying for his soul!

Yep … the irony is I was talking to another lady while she was sitting in her vehicle and I was standing by her driver side door as we were waiting our turn for the others to  leave.  And I was trying to get the conversation to the spiritual side but it just never happened.  I learned she comes every week … drives a distance … I said isn’t there one closer and named that city.  She said yes, but they aren’t very nice nor organized.  So maybe there will be a next time we shall meet again?

Meanwhile I didn’t expect to be talking to this worker instead.  Yes, it is neat how the Lord works and puts the right people across our pathway for them to hear the GoodNews.

Growing a veggie garden as we speak. Have had a garden years ago when the kids were little and I was at home with them. If you don’t have much room, grow bags work great! You can do it…if not for yourself then for those left behind who still may come to a saving knowledge of Jesus.

I know Geri ~ the thought of gardening is just out of the question for us. I feel worn out just thinking about it! But if it came to that, I know there would be some way to contribute to a local effort for the neighborhood or surrounding area. Whatever the deep state can push to accomplish, I have no doubt they will try, long before 2030. There is a map of all the USA land Gates has bought up, and it is a lot! I think these are tense and trying times, but we know Who holds us in His hands; thank You Lord!

Tammie, I love the look and ease of the raised garden / flower beds. The best idea ever! Your garden description sounds amazing! Whether tilling the ground or receiving food gifts from what is tilled, either way, is a blessing. I'll be fit to garden in heaven and it will be a joy!
