Good one! :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr:  Yep, now riding a horse I can do! Golf, not even a bit, but horse riding, I’m so there.... Arthur, isn’t it that event where they use a broom or some such thing to make this huge heavy looking round rock go into a circle to knock the opponent out? A lot like marbles, we played as kids, but much colder and the slipping and sliding on ice thing, crazy for sure! I would agree with Geri, not super how that or even ballroom dancing (although lovely for those like it) ever got approved as an Olympic event .... I smell money and politics here ... just saying B-) Lee - when we lived in a condo in a downtown - old towne - district, we used to walk to dinner, so I can relate, it was a great time, the music would start around 1700 or so and continue until around 2200, all varieties, it was a great 3 years. I don't think the curling industry has much clout or influence to throw around. Lol. A perfectly good winter sport and yet another great invention from Scotland. :good: Not that the olympics aren't highly corrupt, though. *Ugh* One of my sons-in-law is very Scottish, from clan Grahame, descended from some famous Scotsman (Rob somebody) —- they have (or did pre- COVID plannedemic) a huge gathering annually. Dress up in their clan kilt and all ... my grandfathers was born in Ireland to a poor farmer family of the Collins clan, who migrated here when he was just a babe in arms, thus my auburn, red hair and freckles that fight with my grandmother’s Cherokee skin she gave me (yep lethal relationship that produced my 12 aunts and uncles). I never knew him, my mom was number 11, he died when I was two. Thankfully, I have a mild temperament, not hot headed Irish, but a bit feisty and totally love the outdoor life. I have requested a place on the edge of a beautiful waterfall with lots of greenery, I’m a farmer at heart! —- it will be just the most exciting thing to see what all God has planned for each of His beloved children .... :prayer-hands: ... No eye Has seen, nor ear heard, nor heart of man imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him .... Only God could get each of our eternities just perfect for each of us! :prayer-hands: :yahoo: The symbolism associated with horses with their strength and beauty is legendary! Hard and expensive to maintain as like most pets. Arabian stallions are magnificent! Then there's an every day plow horse. I'll probably end up with Mr. Ed's grandfather. TR
For our ride behind the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, I signed up for a chestnut stallion with a black mane and tail - used to work as a stable hand mucking stalls in Jr. high and HS just to ride, my favorite to ride was a 18 hands high chestnut stallion. If I have to follow all the white horses, I’m good with that! :yahoo: Wonder if we will have specially designed saddles, I’ve used both western and English, prefer a good ole western, that just reeks of that leather smell :mdrmdr: So very exciting, the time is close at hand! :prayer-hands:
I walked to work, the hospital was 1.5 miles, it was safer to walk than ride my motorcycle (only a 250, just a step above a peddle pusher). When we opted to move out of the city to build a place so my parents could move in and we could help care for my dad, I found adjusting to the “quiet” non- city noise difficult at first, but now after 8 yrs, I enjoy the more serene quiet of our little community, it’s like a small town within a bigger town within the mini city (smaller than NY, Atlanta, etc...) just a brief 20 min drive away. But I’m really looking forward with great excitement to my heavenly abode, prepared just for me by my Savior, it’ll be perfect, no dusting, no cleaning, no pests bugs, no maintenance, that is a plus if you ask me! :good: B-) :yahoo:
