I agree, whatever the reason it is ingrained in our nature!  Christ was a man and also God!  Just trying to identify and articulate the nature and scope of sin!  Thanks for the input.  TR

*...does that automatically mean that sin is inevitable?

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God  Ro 3:23

Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned Ro 5:12

So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. James 4:17

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 Jn 1:7-9

Then Peter came up and said to him, Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times? Jesus said to him, I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times. Matt 18: 21-22

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. James 5:16

Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.” Lk 17: 3-4

Does that include the good angels as well as the bad?! TR

Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life! 1 Cor 6:2-3

Scripture teaches that the fallen angels will be judged by God (Isaiah 24:21-22; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6; Revelation 21:10)

"...We know that the Greek word for “judge,” krino, also means “to rule or govern.” This strongly implies that we will have authority over the holy angels, for they have no sin for which to be “judged” in the sense of “condemned.” Most likely, the meaning of this passage is that believers in heaven will take part in the judgment of the fallen angels and exercise some authority over the holy angels. Christ has been exalted above all the angels (see Ephesians 1:20-23), and it seems reasonable that those who are in Him and made in His likeness (Romans 8:29; 1 Corinthians 15:49; Ephesians 4:24; 1 John 3:2) will share in His authority, including His authority over the angels (Matthew 19:28; 2 Timothy 2:12; Revelation 20:4)."

Sounds to me like the camp cook wasn’t saved. If she were she would have heeded the Holy Spirit to repentance.

You're right Yohanan. Sounds like that woman wasn't saved.

We all sin, but if someone keeps sinning and is not repenting,................

I have met so many "Christians" that I don't think are saved. I sometimes feel uncomfortable about that and wonder if I am being too judgmental.

I also want to mention that I don't think that doctor was a Christian either. However, it is very concerning how much he was well known and trusted in the Christian community.

Heidi and Geri — as humans we look at sin as degrees or tend to rate sin as grossly bad or a little white lie — God looks at sin as equal. Sin is sin is sin is sin. There is no change in the punishment of sin, without the covered blood of Christ, eternity separated in a lake of fire is the penalty for all who refuse the gift of God through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (God incarnate) who paid for sin.

Tammie, agree:  sin is sin. however, aren't some sins more serious? For example, the shedding of innocent blood or harming children?

maybe it's more the unsaved that will shed innocent blood.

What about harming children?
