TR Database of Americans Seeking Religious Exemption: A federal agency issued a public notice on Tuesday regarding a new policy that can mean that the U.S. government will assemble a database with the names of Americans who claim a religious objection to taking the COVID vaccine reports The Daily Signal. The agency made an announcement that they are creating a new records system to store both the names and “personal religious information” of all employees who make “religious accommodation requests for religious exception from the federally mandated vaccination requirement.” The announcement also fails to mention what the agency will do with this information after it has reviewed an employee’s religious exemption request. Legal scholars at the Signal fear that the fact that the agency instituting this database is so small and obscure shows that the Biden administration is could be determined to establish the database without the red tape and complaints that may come with a larger, more established federal agency.
