I will openly admit at the beginning of this post that its relative significance in the grander scheme of eschatological theology is very small. However, with that admission, I will nonetheless take advantage of this opportunity to vent about one of my pet peeves when it comes to discussion about the end-times. I do so with the expressed intention of being neither unkind nor arrogant.

Within the world of online Biblical discourse regarding the end times, it is not at all uncommon to encounter someone who refers to the final book in the Bible as Revelations or The Book of Revelations (plural). Every time I hear it, it is to my spiritual ears much like that proverbial chalk screeching on the chalkboard. There is no such thing as the Book of Revelations (plural). It should be singular...as in Revelation.

This truth is derived from the text of the very first verse in the book itself: Rev 1:1 "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John..."

Now, you could certainly argue that there are numerous small-r revelations found in the book of the singular, big-R Revelation. However, when folks refer to the book in the plural, they unknowingly damage their own credibility by demonstrating a lack of understanding about that which they speak. They also cause asperger-esque people like me to want to jump up and scream, "Stop it!" LOL. So, just for the record, the correct, accurate way to refer to the Book of Revelation is in the singular form, Revelation. The entire book represents one collective revelation of Jesus Christ given to John.  Or you can call it the Apocalypse if you want.

OK. I am done now. This concludes this test of the Emergency Bible System.  If this had been an actual emergency, you would have been instructed how to pronounce the title of the Book in Greek.  Maranatha!!! And when we return with Him to rule and reign here on earth for 1,000 years in His Kingdom, it will be the fulfillment of the Book of RevelatioN (singular).:heart:

Thanks for the history lesson on Book of Revelation vs Revelation(s).   I have seen this argument come up on other forum boards as I lurk over there but I never knew which view was correct.  Makes sense to me its singular. :good:

What is asperger?  Is it like being bipolar or autistic?  I know 2 people who became autistic immediately after getting mandatory vaccines in school.  Everything in their  life changed afterwards and they can’t function normally without adult supervision.  So sad.

Watchman35, your family welcomes this your revelation with certain compassion and agreement.  I wonder if crimes against language will fully cease in the Kingdom.  Until then, hang in there.  And yes, maranatha!

(or is it maranathas...)

I have so many pet peeves, I own my own circus! Truth be known, most of my pets are of the sheeple variety!

Indeed you are correct to point this out. Not because of it's singular magnitude, but rather to the exposing of bad exegesis and eschatology!

It also points to the fact that the Church is full of "sacred cows". Personal opinion, bias or emotional preferences rather than based totally on scripture! Truly old school expositionist's and theologians are rolling in their graves today!

Much teaching today chases the flamboyant and what would fall into grey areas of our knowledge! Where faith is lacking, imagination is in full supply.IMHO

Asperger's is a very low grade, highly functional condition on the scale of autism. And yes, those vaccines have caused great damage to many, but you won't ever hear mainstream medicine acknowledge it. No one is getting away with anything when we stand before our Maker to give an account of our life. Our only hope is to be clothed in the righteousness of Christ Jesus. For those who choose to stand before Him without that robe of righteousness, they will be found naked and cast out into eternal darkness. And that includes those who knowingly pushed these vaccines on people for financial gain. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.

Indeed I have certainly shied away from unnecessary injections. Should anyone be interested to google the ingredients of many of these being pushed and prodded on the American public, they would be horrified.

The common flu vaccination's main ingredients last I checked, consisted of stem cell sorcery and a main proponent of anti-freeze!

We are now mindful of additives in our food, but blindly accept the fear tactics of the politically correct medical profession and allow the most bizarre items to be introduced into our systems!

Like most medicines being advertised today, the side effects are exponentially more dangerous than the condition being cured. The often prey on the young and the old of our society.

I'd rather have the flue and let nature take it's course!!!

Understand that the lobbying of pharmacutical companies legally forces medicines upon the ignorant and compliant public.

They also will often create syndromes and conditions and attach labels in order to sell their remedies. FOLLOW THE MONEY!

They create an atmosphere of fear, and target the fearful! Study history!

God doesn't call us sheep for nothing.

I agree ... the side effects from the pharmaceutical drugs are alarming and worse than the problem you’re trying to cure.  I don’t have tv service but I remember those info commercials with them rattling off all the warnings ... that was a commercial in itself and forgot what they were trying to sell.

I agree one time I got the free flu shot at work and was violently ill  for a full 5 days.  I will take my chances ... and so far I only had the flu twice in 20 something years and it was mild ... only lasted 2 days.  Last fall I needed hernia surgery and when I went to the doctor for clearance.  Before leaving  he asked if  I wanted the flu shot.  I said no thank you, I don’t want to miss my operation that was scheduled 2 days later ...

My cousin is a teacher and gave up work so she could home schools her kids because she doesn’t want them exposed to any shots.

We did the homeschool thing 20 years ago, and one of the many reasons was to maintain at least some measure of control over vaccinations for our child. As the beast system becomes more fully entrenched in this world, they will continue to move towards forced vaccinations with increasingly impacting consequences designed to bring pressure on the "resisters". If the Lord should tarry, and I do not believe He will, I shudder to think what any potential future grandchildren might face in this wicked, fallen world. I cannot point to chapter and verse, but if I were a betting man I would like the odds that once the Restrainer is removed and the Antichrist revealed, the World Health Organization will become even more aggressive in its vaccination programs for the unbelieving masses. We, on the other hand, will be safely tucked away at Abba's house in the Bridal Chamber with our Bridegroom. Maranatha!!!
