Cool.  So we each get one, and I'll give you my chocolate things, so you have a double portion.

This is all foreign talk with “biscuits and gravy”.  I’m enjoying and giggling upon hearing thee southern and midwestern farm culture.  I can’t picture gravy having both pork and sausage included.  Being from the far north “if” biscuits are on the dinner table there is butter and jelly/jam that go with it.  Normally the bread we serve is warm Italian or French Bread and/or garlic bread with the meals vs. biscuits.  Gravy to a Yankees is simple brown gravy that you put on mash potatoes and/or turkey at Thanksgiving time.  And gravy to old time Italian ladies is tomato sauce. 😆

Going to be amusing how the meals will be … sit down or lots of smorgasbord style and who puts what on their plates and what “gravies” they use. B-)

Could be … my mom used the drippings from the roasted turkey pan to make the gravy.  I can eat mash potatoes and turkey gravy free … as long as the turkey is moist and white meat I can eat it as is with no special cover ups to enhance the food.   And no to left overs. :negative:   That bird truly stinks out the refrigerator 🥴

Let me guess, you don't put cheese in your scrambled eggs either?

So are the southern and midwestern biscuits made from scratch or do you cheat and use the refrigerated Pillsbury Grands biscuits or crescent rolls like us Yankees do at Thanksgiving time served with melted butter.

Both, depending on the situation at the time.  I didn't know biscuits came in a can until I got married.  By the way, if you drop a spoonful of biscuit batter into a pot of chicken soup it becomes a dumpling.  How far south or midwest do you have to go to get chicken & dumplings?

🤔 I really don’t know … I’ve never really noticed it on the restaurant menus up here.  And I don’t recall ever eating dumplings.  I’m guessing perhaps I would have to drive all the way down to the state of Virginia and look for a Cracker Barrel or perhaps … maybe the Amish in Lancaster, PA might have that dish?

Up here they serve chicken pot pies but if I’m eating out I will always get a cheese burger or steak or prime ribs or at an Italian restaurant order some type of pasta entree minus the sausage. :negative:
