Taco Bell is an American invention. My youngest sister loves Del Taco (similar to Taco Bell) and once she came to visit me in Southern California. She was shocked and didn't like the Mexican restaurant I took her to but it was authentic. I really like Chili’s menu food (except for the REALLY spicy dishes that you need a gallon of water and a full hour to get the meal down). The milder meals are GREAT. Spare Ribs, Steaks, Cheese Hamburgers and … that Bacon Avocado Grilled Chicken Sandwich is to die for! So is Chili’s considered authentic Mexicano or not? No but they have, or had, an excellent chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. Cheese on eggs with a side of grits and biscuits and gravy —woo-hoo best ever! I do not EVER use the fake biscuits in a can. Making biscuits from scratch is quick, simple and easy and the smell of them cooking is beyond anything a roll of dough can make….. Making gravy from a packet is like a cultural sin in my neck of woods growing up — I would have probably been taken to the shed if I tried that…. :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr: — my grandmother would have probably yelled the “kid is tainted in the head” for such nonsense :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr: — “whoever heard of biscuits in a roll or gravy from a packet — Lord have mercy, what is becoming of this world….. :mdrmdr:
