For all my adult life I've always been one of the early birds for putting up the Christmas tree.   As soon as the dishes from Thanksgiving dinner are in the dishwasher I'm getting things out of the attic to start decorating.   This year I haven't felt that same urge to decorate -- here it is less than 3 weeks to Christmas and we've done nothing.   It just feels different this year.... anyone else in the same boat?

Aye, mate!  Same boat.  Probably won't even decorate anything.  Oh well.

We've always done the traditional 12 days of Christmas.   Tree goes up 12/24 and is lit after church.   It comes down after 1/6  Epiphany when the Wise Men come.

I am hopeful for a rapture in the next year or so anyway.  If it happens to be this month, I want all who take over my house to know I was worshiping my Lord big time.  So I am busy decorating.

I don't think that came out right.  I am not one to have Bible verses on plaques hanging on walls.  And a nativity at Christmas is a big statement these days to unbelievers.   I know we don't need decorations to worship.

We will probably put up a tree two weeks before Christmas!  My great granddaughter I've never met will be here.  She is 1 1/2 years old!

I love a tree for the holidays, and have always enjoyed Christmas!  If we are taken up then, a Christmas tree will be a witness!

here, we are only supposed to be with those in the same household. border is closed. we could go for groceries or medical/dental. the church cannot meet so there is no christmas dinner with friends planned. it's not the same. I dusted around the house, brought out angel music boxes.

the thing that is the same is being glad that God sent Jesus to us.
Being glad that He will come for us and this time, we will not be apart anymore

I actually wanted to put up a tree the day after Halloween because it's been such a bad year but my dad said not to. Then I wanted to put it up the day after Thanksgiving but my dad said not to do it at all this year because my mom had to go to the emergency room by ambulance for the 3rd time this year just a few days before Thanksgiving and now she's in a nursing home and basically any day now could be her last day. My mom is 70 y/o and not saved. She just spent the last 12 months or so confined to the living room couch hooked up to an oxygen machine and giving herself breathing treatments all day long. I've been waiting on her hand and foot watching her slowly die this year.

Just a little PS.     The  Wise Men are here and out 'traveling'  across the room to get to Jesus.
