Transportation Secretary Buttigieg Says Solution to High Gas Prices is “Public Transportation”:

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Wednesday said a solution to high gas prices is “public transportation.”  The Biden Regime is waging a war on rural America, truckers, and driving freedom.

Joe Biden launched a war against fossil fuels the moment he stepped foot in the White House as part of his ongoing plan to restrict movement.

Last week Buttigieg told the poors to go buy electric vehicles and now he’s telling the peasants who can’t afford high gas prices to take public transportation.  Public transportation isn’t available in most places in the US and it is a dangerous option for women who are traveling alone.

“I hope [public transit] becomes a choice… people have good options and good affordable options to get to where they need,” Buttigieg said. “We need to make sure there is access to excellent public transportation.”

Video shows enormous line of Teslas waiting to charge in Louisiana:

A video showing a massive line of Tesla electric cars waiting their turn at a charging station in Louisiana is making the rounds on the internet this week.

The video, posted on Facebook by Texas resident Candace Metz on Sunday, appears to show more than a dozen Tesla vehicles wrapped around a parking lot near Interstate 10 in Louisiana, just off Prien Lake, Road in Lake Charles.

"Curious, I pulled over and asked the guy how long it took to charge — he said normally 30 min[utes] but these stations are running slow due to demand so it’s over an hour per car," she continued, adding, "Take a look at this line ... Each car is over an hour to charge."  The next closest Supercharger station is more than 100 miles away in Alexandria, though a few less-efficient Destination Charging stations are available nearby. However, Destination chargers only provide for "up to 44 miles of range per hour charged."

The video quickly garnered attention online as commenters debated whether traditional gas-powered vehicles remain more efficient than newer electric vehicles even as gas prices skyrocket across the U.S. amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

"No thanks, I'll keep to my $5 a gallon gas!" Metz exclaimed in the video.

Several commenters agreed with her sentiment, adding, "Welcome to the future of [Democrat] Green energy" and "This is what the New Green Deal Hippies want us to do!"

OK, so how about him setting a standard and start taking public transit?

I really wonder if he is planning to do it. Probably enjoys driving a nice car.

This is an old news.

He got caught.

He drove an SUV, from his house to vicinity of his office, and got off from it then got on a bike to his office.

What a hypocrite!

Yeah tell that to farmers -- "use public transportation instead of tractors".   So sick of all this garbage.   So ready to go home.

Report: Battery Fires Emitting Toxic Fumes Steer Some Consumers from Electric Vehicles:

The Detroit News published a lengthy article explaining that batteries catching on fire in electric vehicles is a problem steering some consumers away from purchasing them.

“The thing that p****s me off more than anything is this gives EVs bad press,” Scott Virgin said in the article about his Chevy Bolt. His vehicle’s battery caught fire, requiring firefighters’ assistance twice because the smoldering battery reignited.

Virgin’s car burst into flames in June 2020 outside a Miami body shop where he was waiting for a repair.  “Up until the bursting into flames thing, it was the best car that I’ve ever owned,” Virgin said. “I absolutely adored that car.”

The Detroit  News reported:  Today’s modern electric powertrain technology, pioneered by General Motors Co., Tesla Inc., and a handful of global automakers, is transforming the global industry even as it exposes some unintended consequences. Among them: Batteries, if defective, can catch fire, burn for hours and release toxic fumes.

Great Reset: Germany Wants EU Ban on Sale of Petrol and Diesel Cars by 2035:

Motoring may be set to see a Great Reset in 2035, with the German government announcing they want an EU-wide ban on the sale of petrol and diesel cars.

Combustion engine cars should go the way of the dinosaur from 2035, according to the German government, who have announced they are backing a plan to ban the sale of petrol and diesel cars in the EU from that year on.

“For vehicle types that are not covered by the CO2 standards — I always take the example of ambulances, or possibly tractors — you will possibly have to find solutions,” Lemke conceded.

A Canadian energy official is asking why Biden is purchasing oil from overseas when Canadian oil is right next door.  Americans are asking why Biden is preventing the US from drilling:

A Canadian energy official expressed frustration with the Biden administration for seeking to increase oil production from Venezuela and Saudi Arabia instead of looking to its neighbor to the north.  Sonya Savage, the energy minister for Alberta, made the comments in an interview with Lisa Fletcher of WJLA-TV.

“What did you think when President Biden called on OPEC and other oil drilling nations like Saudi?” asked Fletcher.

“I thought ‘what?’ ‘We’re right next door. We’re here!’” Savage responded.

“It’s extremely frustrating when we see the United States administration reaching out to Saudi Arabia to ask for more oil production, to ask OPEC for more oil production, to look at Iran, to look at Venezuela when we’re right next door here in Alberta,” she explained. “They should be looking at us as the solution to energy security, not around, not Venezuela.”
This is a good question from the Canadian official.  However, Americans want to know why Biden is buying oil from our enemies when we have more than enough oil from home.  In 2020 thanks to President Trump’s policies, the US was energy independent for the first time in decades.  Biden changed all that.
