The grape harvest in Israel is from June to September, the fig harvest is August to September. So perhaps this person is experiencing misery starting at the end of September. Rosh Hoshanah is an ever popular time to anticipate the rapture for various reasons and it seems to jive with the timing of the righteous swept from the land (it falls mid September this year; the evening September 18 - 20).
