In the 70's and 80's it seemed to be one of the premier giftings in operation. Haven't really heard if this gift being manifested for some time. I wonder why? Or have I been missing it? TR TR I think you are referencing one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as described below: 1 Cor 12:8 “ For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit,” In some aspects I believe we have seen this as many of the prophecies we have watched come to pass. It has been a form of enlightenment over the last 10 years. Our knowledge of spiritual concepts and prophecy has increased. Ephesians 1:18-19, “ The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,” We have some believers who have increased knowledge in the heavenly bodies, others in numerical interpretations, others in birth pains and consistent changes in weather and seismic activity, while some search the headlines daily finding more clues to the unfolding of prophecy. Not sure if this is the venue you are meaning. Well said Sis. But I indeed was making reference to words of knowledge given on a personal level. Seemingly from God's own throne! But you do make very valid points. TR In other words, where are the Prophets for individuals rather than for the nations?! TR There seems to be some diversity of opinion as to the exact meaning of "word of knowledge" and "word of wisdom." Is these utterances regarding things which could not be known by natural means and spoken as a personal prophecy, or is the gifting in the area of communicating effectively? There are very wise and knowledgeable people out there, some from much study and others from what is seemingly beyond their experience. There are those who have wisdom and knowledge, yet lack the ability to make others understand. Then there are those who know things that only God could have shown them and they pass that along to others. Whether it be a word of knowledge or wisdom, or dreams and visions, it seems to me that this gift has been conspicuously missing, IMHO. In any event given the days we live in, you would think that words of this nature would be in high demand, or so it seems to me. To be given a word directly from the Lord and specifically for you speaks to an intimate relationship with God. Both for those who are given those words, and for those to whom they are intended! TR TR, During the late winter of 2019, some time toward the end of February, in a moment of prayer, I typically wake up around 0300 am to have this quite time of thinking about God, communing with him, and seeking His face. During such a time, just as I was falling back to sleep, it seemed to me that God whispered, “during the Bride season”. When I woke to the alarm, my day began, but I kept thinking about this statement. So began my research to discover any truth. What I came to discover and feel as a gift to me, was that because Christ used such a profound illustration of the tradition of the Jewish wedding on many occasions to describe his return and even through the Lords supper to demonstrate this covenant sealed with his body and blood as the sacrificial lamb. I truly feel our snatching away will be during the bride season. This is typically from April to October (our calendar). Certainly there are many holidays and events that also occur during this time, Pentecost, First fruits, FOT, etc... I have studied many different aspects, levels, thoughts, concepts, Bible books, and dates related to prophecy. Do I have all knowledge, certainly not. Am I full of wisdom, no, I am a child compared to many. Was I given a word from God, I felt in my spirit I was, time will tell. I don’t focus on it, but continue to occupy, I still have my early morning time, missing very few. Indeed there are times when I feel I have gotten a personal word from the Lord, I especially sense His leading when I pray. I don't rehearse or think out my prayers, but simply write what comes to mind. Hopefully this will be a blessing to those I pray for. Notions and ideas often come and go, not all from the Lord. I hope to surrender to His Spirit as often as I can. And then there are times when I simply step out in faith, and trust God for the outcome. On a few occasions I seem to know things that I shouldn't know. And then there are those times when God himself will use my voice and lips to speak a truth. Just like Balaam's donkey! Am I a prophet? NO! As the Lord communes with us all. I wish I could claim and take credit for many things, but I don't like the responsibility that comes with it. My personal attempts at best are more than feeble. But it's wonderful when it is God! TR I like that, Season of the Bride! Not sure what all that means, but we are presently the focus of the full trinity! That works for me. Though it goes without saying, our unity in the faith is that we love one another. For herein is found our foundation, theology, doctrine and teachings aside! You all are the hands, feet and face of Christ in this life! TR I hear impressions from God for people. I send them privately. Maybe we don’t hear about it because it’s more of a private thing? It seems to be growing in my circle of friends, listening to God for others, usually in the form of scripture.
I have heard others receiving “a word “ to declare dates and times, I choose not to go down those paths.
Do I believe God still speaks to us, absolutely and especially through His word, that is why memorizing Gods Word is so vital to my life.
Is this a path you are thinking along this line? I have heard many on this blog having heart felt and spirit led truths proclaimed. You, HH, Donna, Yohanan, Geri, David, Watchman. So God is still giving a word, through His watchers.. my thoughts! The Father is going to tell the Son, Go, get your bride....very soon, all is soon ready!
