I'd change one things, too. Even though I love French bread I would have Italian bread instead. That's how my mom made it growing up. 😉

Are we at 30 post already! We haven’t even started the main dish or dessert! I have been making a few last time meals, I made a Cheeseburger casserole with Tator tots for the crust and obviously in a cast iron skillet - yummy, tastes just like a cheese burger!
Pulled Bar-B-Que Pork may or may not be allowed in heaven, the pig thing you know, although the Lord did admonish Peter that time!  Any way, slathered with Cole Slaw is the best way to serve this dish up ....

A great grilled steak with a baked sweet potato and asparagus (of course all grilled) is a must for any banquet.
I thought I saw mention of a lemon meringue pie, good choice too :good:

I actually can’t tell the difference in taste between French bread and Italian loaf bread because the Italian Bakery in NJ sold both kinds and the same dough was used just in different format.  So I just thought French bread means its long and narrow loaves whereas Italian is fatter and more rounder ... and then there is the braided loaf bread that you easily pull apart and don’t need a knife to slice. They all actually taste the same with toasted sesame seeds on top.  Now just heat the loaf and spread on the butter .. ooh la la.   Or in olive oil, etc.

That is cool that your mom made the homemade bread!  I know that takes a lot of work kneading the dough by hand.   Since we had the Italian bakery down the road my mom brought the bread but she did make homemade pretzels, donuts, cakes, pies and cavatelli pasta.  I used to help her with the pasta.  Your fingers would get numb from curling the dough. Then when we saw it sold in the frozen section of the grocery store she stopped making the homemade version ... it just wasn’t worth the time.  We had milk delivered to the home as well as potato chips ... yep ... anyone remember ... Charles Chips?  It even came with their very own metal canister. :mdrmdr:

Hahaha now Arthur ... as you noticed by now Italians and I’m sure French people center all their activists around delicious food.  Every get-together gatherings are one theme ... the main dishes and desserts to feast on ... no matter what the occasion is.  B-)
