Seems to me that I can easily equate virtual reality as the new Ouji game-board of the past. A portal into spiritual evils via the senses leading into the mind. At the same time it certainly seems that many demonic portals touching man has been made more readily available recently. Whether demonic interest, drugs, virtual reality, artificial intelligence or what have you. Access into the dark dominions continue to avail themselves often disguised as entertainment. Indeed technology is proving to be a Pandora's box all unto itself. Emulating the attribute of God's creativity, man has subdued the Earth and all it's realms. Whereas God created good, man creates both good and evil chasing after wealth. God's motivations were hugely different! Even if man were to usurp God and claim Godhood within themselves, the generations of man would numbered extremely low. Whereas God who is eternal and self existing predates the generations of man and holds eternity in the palm of His hand! Interesting that God could create man in His own image and likeness that they would even die fully to self. While yet some men descend into depths of depravity emulating demons instead of God! Just thinking out loud here. What say you? TR I look at the good that has come from technology and from what you write, I am reminded that even in good, man can and does distort, because of the evil in the world. But soon and very soon, all of technology will not be an issue for the watchers, our Bridegroom will not use an iPhone, iPad, Skype, or facial recognition program to call His children home and He knows who we are. :prayer-hands: :yahoo: :prayer-hands: :flyup: Don't get me wrong Sis. I thank God for sliced bread and toilet paper every day! The fact that man continues to grow in knowledge and creative effort only speaks to how we can be lickened to our Creator. But like our Heavenly Father, once something is created, it cannot be un-created. As well as also considering the motives of our creating! I truly must say that Man has certainly subdued the Earth and it's enviroments. As we were instructed by the Lord to do so! But intellect and technology does not a God create. TR I'm not sure if Virtual Reality as a form of entertainment is that much worse than other forms of escapism, such as 2-D movies or video games. It is the constant desire to escape real life that I see as the underlying threat. There are plenty who have never tried VR and yet see life through a distorted set of assumptions, chiefly that they can create their own reality through their will. Whether it is by a head set over the eyes, or a veil of deception, we live in a time in which people think they can create their own truth and operate subjectively. Either way, your eyes can deceive you and you wind up walking into a brick wall outside your preferences about reality. Technology is exploding, without a doubt. The worst tendencies of the human mind will be exploited by it, as it always has been. There may be some good things accomplished by the use of such new tools, while the common person will mostly be attracted to it as a diversion from the real world. Astute observation David. Indeed the more we learn and grow the more apt we will be to better appreciate not only all that the Lord has done, but how big He really is! TR I have a VR headset. I work in an industry where some of my clients manufacture VR. From my experience there are (key word here) currently far more evil and totally ungodly video games, tv sitcom, and general human behavior than in the world of VR. Again, I say “currently”. The technology in and of itself is not evil but the intentions of the heart can be greatly so. Undoubtably, there will come terribly evil things from this technology, just like all the technologies before have produces their share of evil. But in the end it all goes back to the heart of man. Technology is simply an arena. Like I always say... it may start out with a great reason to help mankind, but usually at some point, sin gets involved. What can be a good thing can almost always also become a bad thing too - depending on the heart of the user. There are some amazing technological advances, but we have to stop and evaluate if they are truly worth the ease that they bring or are we paying some sort of price by using them? As I grow older, I find myself wishing for the days of my childhood; which were relatively free of much of technology save a tv, microwave, and landline telephone. I long for the quiet and peace of those days where news came one time per day at 6 p.m. followed by national news at 6:30 p.m. I miss a lot of things about that time, but like TR - I am always an advocate of indoor plumbing and running water!! 😉 :mdrmdr: Yohanan, I am not a “gamer” by any stretch of the imagination but I would agree 100% with you on what little I have seen. It is truly amazing the pure evil of some of the games, videos, and most recently tv shows. I have resorted to watching prophecy YouTube videos, DIY, building off grid, the weather channel, and gadgets on YouTube, that’s about all I can stomach. It would not bother me to do away with my TV. the verse that states the heart of MSN is desperately wick, who can know it... is spot on. I too have seen good come from technology but man will and does corrupt even this. Ready to depart this ole world. :prayer-hands: IMHO, it will be a preconditioning for the unveiling of the "Beast"! VR is that spoonful of sugar Mary Poppins sings of! TR Knowing what tech is out there now and what is out there that "we the public" are not aware exists - I shudder to think of that time during the tribulation when the Holy Spirit is not restraining the evil intentions and use of such tech. Goodness gracious. Seeing China using this social credit system and facial recognition software, not too mention other AI capabilities - is it any wonder there will be so many tribulation martyrs?? Yet we know that there will be believers that somehow survive to the end, but how they do it... that will be impressive. Just saw an article today that the US Army is creating a "Google maps on steroids" that can have the interior of buildings through satellite usage. Add that type of tech with software that finds human heat signatures and AI constantly monitoring it... I will be impressed how believers evade the evil forces.
