Twilight

We stagger in the twilight,

Gasping for fresh air,

Surrounded by the enemy’s minions,

And their cold and malevolent glare.

Their attacks are incessantly sinister,

Devious and diabolically planned,

Overwhelming, relentless, and oppressive,

And totally impossible to withstand.

We stumble in total exhaustion,

Beaten and excessively battered,

Our sails hang limply from their masts,

Withered, torn, and tattered.

And just when we think it's over,

That we have finally reached the bitter end,

We’re shoved back down against our will,

And the torment starts all over again.

So we prostrate ourselves and look above,

And sincerely claim The Name,

But the ruthlessness of evil is utterly atrocious,

And the harassment continues just the same.

The more we persevere,

The more ferocious the attacks increase,

The enemy never rests,

And his efforts never cease.

STILL, WE STAND,

Defiantly in accord,

Knowing that in the end,

The battle ultimately belongs to our HEAVENLY LORD!!!

We will NOT give up,

And we will NOT give in,

Despite all the setbacks we experience,

At the Rapture we eventually WIN!!!

We will in that instance jump with elation,

And in unison euphorically rejoice,

We will all be changed in the wink of an eye,

When we hear that Beautiful and Majestic Voice!

Our Hope is currently imminent,

And well worth the wait,

We are destined for a calmer existence,

A more peaceful and soothing fate.

We will ascend together just before the storm,

To a Heavenly Paradise – serene and warm;

The Rapture will free us from sorrow and loss,

Salvation and Triumph were secured at the CROSS!!!

We will soar forever above this world’s rubble,

Never again to experience adversity or trouble;

The cold hands of wickedness can never seize us,

We’re under the Protection of our Lord, and Savior, JESUS!!!!
