MARANATHA A couple of interesting things to note. 1) Nissan is the Babylonian name that's used to replace the true Jewish name, Aviv. 2) Aviv means "barley ripening", which is important because the month of Aviv is base on the gleanings of the barley crop. 3) The Jewish calendar has nothing to do with the son or the equinox but by the barley crops as per God's instruction when it came time for a Wave offering. 4) In the land of Israel there are only 2 seasons, summer and winter. Its most important that it observed the barley crop correctly because if not then the month of Aviv could be off by 30 days a long with the rest of the year. The calendar Israel uses is a preset one and is not based how God stated in His Word that it must be the first new moon after the Barley is ripe. This year the first new moon after the Barley will be ripe is April 22nd - which makes Passover May 5. Again thank you for this work!!
