The Loss Of An Exquisite Rose

Dedicated to a young child of a Christian friend that recently passed away.  My hope is that this might possibly bring a little relief to his family where currently there is much sorrow, bitterness, hatred, confusion, lack of hope, etc., etc.

THE LOSS OF AN EXQUISITE ROSE

We are left on earth to mourn the loss,

Of a bud just beginning to sprout,

An ornamental rose now resting in God’s Vase,

Adorning a Beautiful Bouquet in Paradise no doubt.

We ponder the potential left untapped,

And search for the reason why,

This blossom was picked before full-bloom,

And the stem was left awry?

The mind can’t fathom what the heart must bear,

Only time can put them at ease,

But the fragrance of the petals won’t be forgotten,

Nor the joyous memories that dance with the breeze.

The Good Shepherd has brought another flower home,

And the tears shed now will not last forever,

For as this colorful array awaits us in Heaven,

We can take solace that one day we will again be together.

Although we were unable to express our heart-felt “Good-byes”,

That doesn’t lessen the love that was there,

We may feel heart-broken now for this opportunity lost,

But this flower is in Gods arms -- and Jesus will assuage all our despair!
