I saw this comment on the RITA facebook side ... someone said the crowns that were handed out at the Judgment Seat we will later be casting down at Jesus’ feet in the worship ceremony in Rev 4:10-11  the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: ‘You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.’”

The person who made the comment also indicated Jesus keeps all the crowns.  Then Andy Hunt’s (Humble Horse) commented ... “What is God going to do with all those crowns!!!”

I was thinking of all the church age saints and all the crowns that will be handed out ... and started giggling because that will be A LOT of crowns!  My thoughts are we will be so overcome with gratitude and thankfulness at the worship ceremony because of what He has done for us that it will be a spontaneous reaction to lay our crowns down for Jesus since He alone is worthy.    I’ve heard some Christians say “since we are just going to give our crowns back, why strive for them?”  I think that is the wrong attitude to have because we should be wanting to hear “well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”  Matt 25:23   Besides that ... I believe the Lord delights in giving us good gifts.  He is so loving and generous and I don’t believe Jesus is an “Indian Giver” so we will be able to keep the crowns and we will probably be wearing them with the assigned duties He gives us in ruling and reigning with Him during the Millennium period.

Just wondering your thoughts on this? :feedback

Seems to me the question then becomes, will He keep them.  Or as you of have stated will they be held for us until we need them?!

And if we do keep them, will they be a constant reminder for all to see the level of surrender we displayed in this life?!

For if Jesus the general of the army that returns on white horses wants to highlight various acts of bravery, courage and patience by giving crowns for the soldiers who fought on this battlefield of Earth then we should receive them graciously.  Although our immediate response will be to cast them down at His feet.  Saying in effect that crowns don't matter, but the thought that Jesus was so moved as to give us those crowns, is enough.

Our casting our crowns to the Lord is simply a gesture of love, honor and gratitude!

:amen:   The crowns symbolize our faithful obedience in following the Lord as well as being a watcher and longing for His return.  At the worship ceremony how awful it will be for those who didn’t at least strive for a crown.  I would think they will be ashamed and regret being empty handed because they had their eyes fixed on obtaining only the fleeing perishable junk down here and not even watching/wanting the rapture to happen.  This to me is the easiest crown to obtain.

I’m wondering now if there is a huge factory/storage facility in heaven and some angels are busy at the assembly lines assigned to the task of melting the gold and molding the crowns and perhaps even adding some gem stones?

I also think the crowns are laid aside as a tribute to Christ, who makes it possible for us to wear them.  It would seem we are allowed to keep them, although that is an opinion rather than something which is addressed directly.

If I remove my hat (something I almost never wear) out of respect, it doesn't mean I no longer possess the hat.

What Christ wears is a diadem, showing his authority.  What we are given is a wreath or a garland to be worn, similar to what was presented to the winner of an event.

And it seems to me that as following the Jewish custom the robes we wear will also include whatever titles and awards of prominence we may receive.  Either with or without crowns our accomplishments will be known.
