Happy Belated 4th ya’ll — spent the day with family and remember erring this great country. It is not our home but I respect and love my country.  We watched the incredible true story of what Francis Scott Key went through and saw in order to write what became a great song, you are not taught on the whole story about the creation of our national anthem. This was found in the writings of Mr. Key, a lawyer. Enjoy!

Awesome video!

Just for clarity because the video does not mention this,  Key wrote the Star Spangled Banner in 1814 during the War of 1812 (1812-1815) not the Revolutionary War. Two things were mentioned in the video that may cause someone to think otherwise. One was that the British referred to us as Colonists, which would suggest that this was during the Revolutionary War. The War of 1812 started due to disputes over territorial expansion as America colonized lands in the Northwest Territory (Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana,  and part of Minnesota) that the British had claimed, but as a nation we were fully independent at this time.  The other thing mention was George Washington, who had died 15 years earlier (1732-1799). None of this changes the message but just so there is no confusion.
