That is not to say that the Septuagint is always superior to the Masoretic text. There are times when the Masoretic text is better. It's all part of the science of textual criticism. As far as the dates of the patriarchs, that is a deep rabbit hole one can dive into. The Septuagint dates do tend to line up better with archeology, in general. However, they don't match up with a roughly 6,000 year history that we have in the Masoretic text. Will do some more digging. :mail: Looked up the definition, don't know if that helps... I was thinking if we can pin point his last day on earth to Pentecost as well ... wow, talk about a hare-raising tail. B-) I can’t seem to find a date for Noah’s death. Just that he was 950 years old when he died. This is what I find intriguing that the patriarchs in the Bible - their date of deaths are hard to find. This is one of the many things I’m going to enjoy in the library up in heaven - reading about the lineage in greater detail. I would think there had to be some recordings somewhere - perhaps the Dead Sea Scrolls? Or perhaps the Vatican got the long lost books under lock and key in their basement. I would think Noah brought with him on the ark ... all the family treasures including the records of the family tree and the encyclopedias of Adam’s hard work of naming all the animals, birds, plants, sea life, etc. because how could man after the flood remember it all ... somehow I think it got written down in a referral book(s).
