Never said it was wrong, just think our humanness would get the best of the worst of us.... we will get there sooner than later and it ain’t years from now, you are so correct, we are the terminal generation. :yahoo: the bible does not tell us what day or month Enoch was taken, so any commentary that says they know this information, I wouldn't count on it. oral traditions get passed down about history, but if God wanted us to have this info of month or day, for us not to be uncertain about it, the info would have been put into scripture as certain other month and day events were, like what day for passover. the bible tells us, Genesis 5:21 When Enoch had lived 65 years, he fathered Methuselah. 22 Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years. 24 Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him. Hebrews 11:5 Jude 14 It was also about these that Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones, 15 to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” i'm thinking about the ark, if the timing is foreshadowing when tribulation begins, it would mean the trib starting in a "fall" time which would put a mid trib abomination of desolation in a springtime. so the flight of the Jews would not be in the winter. so hoping that we could be with the Lord at home before next year. that Colossians 1:13 passage, we are no longer slaves to sin. we have been made citizens of heaven. we are no longer "citizens" of satan's domain. this is a positional reality of our belonging to Christ. Remember about passover how one lamb was to a household? Jesus is the lamb for His household. we are counted now in the household of Jesus, given assured grace to live in His kingdom with Him. we are not moved in physically yet where God calls home in heaven, but outside of time, God sees us set apart that the redeemed are His forever. we are positionally moved into the kingdom of God's dear Son. Berean study bible puts it this way: 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.…Berean Study Bible Jewish tradition says that Enoch was born and was translated on Pentecost. I am not sure why they have this belief. I wonder if it's because they believe he wrote the book of Enoch and maybe it's in there somewhere ? found this in 2Enoch about his birthday being 6Sivan (Pentecost in the future), but 2Enoch does not agree with what the bible says about Enoch's son being born when Enoch was 65, and how long he lived following his son's birth. since the 2Enoch account disagrees with the bible, :negative: Holy Spirit does not get details wrong. 2Enoch 1:2 At that time, he said, when my one hundred and sixty-fifth year was completed, I begat my son Mathusal (Methuselah). 3 After this too I lived two hundred years and completed of all the years of my life three hundred and sixty-five years. Chapter 68, LXVIII1 Enoch was born on the sixth day of the month Tsivan, and lived three hundred and sixty-five years. While I don’t believe the books of Enoch are inspired scripture, the date discrepancies are not necessarily wrong. The Septuagint has some different dates for the early patriarchs. Here is an article that explains why the Septuagint (LXX) is superior to the Masoretic text in a lot of places. (Be careful not to tell King James Onlyists this, though. Lol.) https://www.oodegr.com/english/protestantism/masoretic_vs_septuagint.htm Aha, thanks guys ... that’s what I was looking for! :good: So Enoch was born on Pentecost :mail: and Jewish traditions has him translated on his birthday ... Hmmm .... perhaps because he was sooo vexed with the world’s conditions ... his birthday wish was to be in heaven and the Lord granted his prayer request? 😉 Oh Tammie, Last night @ 8:30 pm I REALLY needed a “Lot of controversy surrounding Enoch’s birth and rapture on Pentecost.” Why oh why I didn’t see this earlier ... here you answered my question but for some reason I only saw/focused on the 365 age and Methuselah’s info. :mdrmdr: Then I asked the question again of wondering his birth and death :mdrmdr: Then your pun here ... still didn’t register (sink in) yet until just now. :mdrmdr: Oh boy ... I promise to be more alert today. B-) The day God took him?? Just one more question .... I wonder if anybody witnessed Enoch getting raptured up or did they just find his clothes and shoes left behind? Does the book of Enoch reference anything on this subject? Or did the Lord reveal this only to Moses as he wrote the knowledge down in Genesis? And poor Methuselah having to live on for another 669 more years without having the support and fellowship of his dad around. And what about Enoch’s wife ... if she was still alive having to deal with that sudden loss of being a widow. thanks for the link arthur
By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God.V8 (aka MORE chocolate) and by the time the Kit-Kat bars and hot chocolate drink started working it was waay after I saw your comment .. in addition ..
