Second Passover - a wrinkle in time or just my Bible?

Ok so you guys know that I am always watching the appointed times in the Bible as to having potential significance for an appointment with the rapture.

So here is an interesting one to consider - Pesach Sheni or Second Passover.

Here are some things I find interesting about it.

First of all - if we look at the well known Feasts of the Lord of Leviticus 23, we have the spring Feasts of Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits and Weeks (Pentecost) which were all fulfilled in the first coming in order in the crucifixion, resurrection and the giving of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

Then we have the Fall Feasts of Yom Teruah (Rosh Hashanna) Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) and Sukkot (Tabernacles) and it is widely understood that these will likely be fulfilled in order at Jesus’s second coming.

Often many will associate Rosh Hashanna, or it is known biblically as Yom Teruah, the Day of the trumpet blast, with the rapture - however others have observed that even as the spring feasts were fulfilled in sequence all within a short time within the same year, that very likely the fall feasts will occur the same way.  If this is the case this might make the fall feasts more better suited to the second coming rather than the rapture. So if we are looking at feast days maybe there is another even better one to consider.

So here is something interesting to ponder - Some have made the statement that these feasts are the feasts of the Jews or purely the Jewish calendar and I have defended that these are actually God’s appointed times - however for the sake of argument let me take the other position momentarily, lets just presume for argument sake that these 7 appointments are appointments only for Israel with God, with 3 fall feasts left to be fulfilled at the second coming - is there then any other appointed time given for everyone else?

Well we have the feast of Purim and the feast of Channukah - both are Biblical, Purim found in the book of Esther and Channukah, oddly enough comes from the inter testament books of the Maccabees but is recognized by Jesus in the Gospel of John - but none of these really fit the bill that the feasts of Leviticus 23 do since they were not included in God’s original commands or pattern of redemption.

But there is one other feast that is in the Torah that does fit this pattern and these criteria - it is second Passover.

Originally in Numbers 9:6-7 there were a few men that were defiled by a corpse and could not keep the Passover and asked Moses what to do - Moses went to God and here is what God came back with…

God told Moses in Numbers 9:9-14 that basically if anyone was unclean or on a far journey that they could keep the passover one month later, delayed by 30 days.  Of course Passover is most closely associated with deliverance from slavery and redemption and exodus - all themes associated with our deliverance at the rapture.

Now I am not the first person to notice or point this out that Israel was only questioning what to do if they were defiled and unclean - why did God come back with - or if you are on a far journey?

Many have associated this with Jesus who has been gone nearly 2000 years and in many parables is associated as a man who went on a far journey.

We also see a practical  example of a Second Passover in 2 Chronicles 30 and specifically what catches my attention is verses 17-20 where many people who ordinarily could not have kept the passover were prayed for by King Hezekiah and God heard his prayer and “healed them” so that they could keep the passover.  This whole thing in my mind is a picture of the Gentile church - people who would not have ordinarily qualified to enter the assembly of Israel under the law, yet the king (in our case Jesus) made intercession and God showed the grace to let them into the assembly also.

So because of this Second Passover is screaming to me that it may be the feast tucked away and hidden within the feasts that might have a church application.

This year Second Passover falls on May 15/16 - some notable things about this date:  It is right around that May 14 fig tree generation date.  There is also a blood moon that marks this date.  Blue also gave a quite a good list of other notables in bullet point form on another thread - maybe blue can repost that here since I can’t remember the thread?

Finally my own little personal “sign” maybe???  The title of my thread - Second passover a wrinkle in time or just in my Bible?-

I have a”One Year Bible” that I use for daily devotionals.  I take very good care of all of my bibles and just this year I noticed a very perceptible, persistent wrinkle on one of the pages that I can’t seem to press out or get rid of.  I don’t know how it got there, and it only showed up a few months ago - but guess what day it marks out?

I wanted to post a picture of it but I have tried several times to post this and keep getting an error and think maybe the picture is causing it, so maybe I’ll try to attach the pic in a reply or else you will just have to trust me lol.

The wrinkle marks out the preceding day, May 15 the day of the blood moon and the day pictured here May 16 Second Passover -maybe I’m just grasping at straws but I hope this wrinkle signifies a wrinkle in time when God once again interrupts human history by ripping open the heavens and sending Messiah Jesus to resurrect His dead and rapture His beloved Church!

Well in 1 Corinthians 3:6 it reads, "...God gave the increase."  Maybe that's what happened in your Bible, Derrick. 😉
