I got a Home on the other side ~ ~~ turn up your speakers . . Elvis was the best gospel vocalist! So much of today’s so called “worship” music is nothing but a sensational experience. Too much is written about come to me, show me, pour yourself on me, me me me me me! We’ve seemed to have forgotten the privilege of praising and worshiping HIM and putting HIM in the center. That’s why I love the old gospel songs and, in my opinion, no one sang them better than Elvis! I love his rendition of How Great Thou Art so good Yohanan ~~~ appreciating the appropriateness of true Praise in hymns of the past that sound worthy for song ~ ~ pleasing our Lord with praise (which He needs none) He knows Infinitely when hearts rise to His Heart of Glory, He expresses His joy set before Him . . ~~ for, He made us to enjoy relationship with our Almighty God ~~ ~ I always feel more in tune and connected with the Lord when I’m worshipping Him and not asking for anything from Him. Just to praise and magnify His name and Who He is. That’s when the greatest blessings flow. He puts A LOT of passion in his singing. So gifted. I recall an old clip of him singing a secular song and the crowd was calling out “the King the King” and he rebuked them and said “no, I am not the King ... only Jesus Christ is King!” To think he was a twin ... his brother, Jesse Garson was stillborn. I wonder if he also has the singing talents? Just think perhaps both will look the same singing for us in heaven? no doubt I think, the highest praise of worship is enjoying the Great Majesty of Christ's Splendor . . His Majesty can stir spirits into blessed worship ~~ , yet without consuming His dear saved ones, He brings blessings on earth of His Resurrected Light stirring longings for Him and His Heaven ~ ~ I do appreciate the soul of Elvis' gospel songs . . he was so gifted expressing his passion singing these amazing songs . . ~ ~ ~ as you say, Geri ~~ Donna, I lean towards Elvis is still very much alive ... he wanted out of the secular music industry and wanted to go back to singing religious music and became a pastor in Arkansas. If you google pastor Bob Joyce singing you will see a whole bunch of youtubes and read the comment section of people’s thoughts. Here are some interesting tidbits that people noticed that will make you go hmmm … and keep the mystery alive … “Bob Joyce’s” full name is … Robert E. Joyce or R.E. Joyce (rejoice) what a perfect alias cover name, eh? 😉 In a few of Bob Joyce’s singing youtubes … people noticed something very interesting … Glen D. Hardin (Elvis’ former pianist) was on visit at Bob Joyce’s church. Coincidence? Bob Joyce sings “How Great Thou Art” the same as this youtube that Yohanan just posted. B-) So my take is ... “Elvis” is still here for the rapture and will join his twin brother up in heaven soon. Geri ~ ~ I disagree ~ that Bob guy doesn't even look like Elvis ~ ~ ~ Elvis is alive in Heaven ~ ~ the devil tried to take his soul and spirit, and our LORD said, 'no, he's Mine ~ ~ ~ I see the similarities between Bob Joyce and Elvis but his nose is wrong. Not too many years ago everyone thought my dad looked like Sean Connery. It got the the point of being ridiculous how many people would stop him and ask him if he was. Once, when he and I were boarding an airplane, I would see people turning to look at him an muttering “is that him?” So there are many look-alike out there but I believe Elvis died in August 1977.
at the least, . . Elvis and his twin have amazing voices enjoyed now in Heaven ~~
