Psalm 36:6 “.... You, LORD, preserve both people and animals.” “Preserve” means to keep from decay. I claim this verse to mean all those who are saved and their beloved pets will live again in heaven. In the Millennium the curse is lifted ... the wild animals will all be tamed and chances are they will talk again. Isaiah 11:6 “The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.” Since the curse is uplifted does that mean all the people and animals born in the Millennium Kingdom will not have any more birth defects? If so, wouldn’t that mean all sheep would be eligible for the slaughter and you no longer have to be picky in choosing the one without spot or blemish since they all will be perfect? Can you imagine when the priest(s) have to kill a lamb for the blood sacrifice ... won’t that lamb be talking back and saying “Oh no, me .... why me?” How hard is that going to be for the priest to hear that? :wacko: Also, since “the Lord, preserves both people and animals” ... just wondering if the slaughtered sheep will eventually live again later on? Perhaps be rebirth and then later say .... hi, I’m back! B-) Or not? Just wondering your thoughts? :feedback Indeed the Lord wants also to redeem His creation, to the inclusion of animals. I can't argue with scripture but can't for the life of me understand why animal sacrifices will need to continue after the sacrifice of Christ! That said, can't believe that animal sacrifice will continue in the New Heaven and Earth. Secondly, I guess people being born in the Millennium will need to understand the sacrifice of Christ on a first hand basis. They must experience what we experienced, both good and bad. I question as to whether animals ever had the ability to speak, ever. Just as martyr's are reward I would imagine there is something in it for the animals as well. But's let's be clear here, Man was the crown of His creation, not the angels and not animals. I think we being created in God's image and likeness must trump all other creation, as this seems to be the heart of God. Sadly this particular delienation seems to be obscured, even more so with animal lovers! Should we love animals more so than a beautiful sunrise or sunset, or a new born baby? I think not!!! Let us remember that Satan was second only to God in knowledge, power, beauty and glory. He was a cherub who was the worship leader of Heaven! When he is seen in the Garden as a snake, this was simply the appearance or form that he chose, not his natural estate. And in the form of this one snake, he alone exhibited the power of speech. The only other time an animal spoke with the tongue of men was Balam's ass. And this was a divine intervention by God on a one time basis. These were the exceptions to the rule. Just as like the rule that none would be raised from the dead and reappear to the son's of men, so too when Samuel was raised from the Abraham's bosom and appeared to Saul. This was solely and expressly accomplished by a sovereign act of God! There have been many who have been raised from the dead or had NDE's, but this was accomplished prior to their final disposition. It's wonderful to enjoy and thank God for His creation in all it's forms. But when it becomes idol worship no matter how well meaning it is, it abhorrent before the Lord. He truly is mindful of even an sparrow falling! Now as to why the Lord sacrificed an animal to provide "skins" for Adam and Even" when other measures could have been employed, speaks to God's comparison of Christ's ultimate sacrifice. Indeed the whole concept of living sacrifices is a bloody and ugly adventure! But this is the model and medium that the Lord chose. Why? Who can say! Truly animals are to be enjoyed by men, but the love of animals IMHO is likened unto the love of money! Were there not an animal to be found in Heaven, there would be no loss to consider in lieu of the glories that Heaven would contain! TR Therein lies a powerful lesson for us all! Regardless of our position in Christ or any titles that we may have, Lucifer's fall from glory teaches that our status doesn't save us. And even with the Word telling us that the heart is continually evil, who but the Lord knows this. Even our hearts or mindset don't save us! Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Now back to animals. Who know's, perhaps animals will done away with in the New Heaven and Earth?! I personally can enjoy many things other than the presence of animals. I have always enjoyed birds inparticular, and salt water fishes! Truthfully, the draw of being in Heaven and in His presence and in the presence of the saints will be more than enough for me. But should the Lord allow me to enjoy the animalistic part of His creation, all well and good! I think they will be most prominent during the Millennium. But the interactions that I look forward to are not limited to any one animal. TR You will have to forgive the fact that I'm neither a dog or a cat person. For all we know God could have a pet sitting on His lap at the throne! That said, I have simply run into too many people who were self described animal lovers, from personal pets to wanting to save the whole of the animal kingdom. Sadly, I have known too many who were mean and ugly people otherwise. I'm sure that in Heaven we couldn't cross the line of worshiping pets or animals in general. For me there has always been a healthy line that seems to be crossed over. In short, non animal lovers will never understand animal lovers, and vice versa! TR TR, much of what you have stated holds a lot of validity. As humans we seem to naturally go way overboard with everything from holding on the golden calves to crystals to animal worship. I love dogs and horses, my husband is a cat person, a few of my grandsons have turtles, snakes, rabbits, dogs, and cats. That all being said, it totally amazes me the overall worship of the domesticated household pet. I don’t hold to animal or human cruelty but I’m also not convinced that we will have our special pet in heaven with us. Animals do not have the breath of God to be a living eternal soul. I have a sweet friend who told me, she prayed her dog would die before the rapture as she just couldn’t bear the thought of him left here. I just kept my mouth shut and smiled, prayed for her to love God more than the dog. I am excited to be able to ride a horse behind the conquering King of Kings :prayer-hands: Well ... I have high hopes of seeing my dogs again in heaven ... God gave us stewardship roles to take care of our pets and I trust it will continue in the next life as well. Revelation 21:5 Here is something to ponder ... the animals were in the midst of paradise of God’s garden when God created Adam and Eve. The animals were along side with Noah and his family on the ark as God judged the world. The animals were in the midst of the stable when Jesus was born in the flesh. ————————————— Romans 8:18-22 says that the whole creation was subject to suffering and futility because of human sin. The creation groans in longing for the liberation that will come to humans, and thereby to all creation itself. Creation is under man’s dominion and will share the rewards of his redemption just as it shared the punishment for his sin. Animals are a central part of that creation, next to man himself the most significant part. After all, besides his wife, Adam was called upon to give names only to one other part of the creation–the animals (Genesis 2:19-20). He worked the garden, but he wasn’t invited to name the vegetation. Clearly, the animals had certain qualities that set them above other creation. They were to be special to man, and his naming them makes his connection with them personal. - Fair Use- Geri7, all that you bring to the table is true. No doubt there will animals during the Millenium. I am not arguing against animals in Heaven or in God's workmanship of them. The animal realm is truly a great part of the Lord's creation and eschews His creativity! The animal realm as a whole is a wonder. Indeed even in prophetic language animals are highlighted! This is not only an emotional issue for many, but is also a politically correct one here on the Earth at this time. And for those that desire to have pets to love in Heaven that would be a joy! Truly not wanting to take anything away. For me it's all about balance and perspective as these have been skewed in this life. And if we are quoting scripture, we are instructed to love one another. TR My final word on this matter because this is a hard saying. And is only for those who can receive it! Again the Word tells us to love God, our neighbor and ourselves as God loves us, love our enemies and one another. Then the Word tells us not to love the things of this Earth. We are to have regard for the animals in our care, but never are we told to love them. TR
