When Zohran Mamdani was running for mayor of New York City, he repeatedly talked about freezing the rent. Voters heard this and thought it meant that if Mamdani was mayor, their rent would go down. That’s not how the real world works, but that’s what people heard. In a sense, they heard what they wanted to hear. Mamdani knew all of this but he kept talking about it anyway. Now he has been in office for six months and rents in New York City just hit an all-time high. The New York Post reports: The city’s housing crisis has hit “DefCon 1” — with average rents for a one-bedroom in Manhattan hitting an all-time high of nearly $5,500 last month, and Brooklyn following suit, according to new data and critics. “We need bold action. This is a crisis,’’ New York City Comptroller Mark Levine posted... ...The most recent available data shows roughly 38% of New Yorker residents were born outside the United States, and about 40% of rentals in the city are occupied by foreign-born individuals, though the data does not distinguish between legal and illegal immigration status. “You declared yourself a sanctuary city. You ‘welcomed’ hundreds of thousands of illegals. Then you had to find places to put them,” conservative radio host Andrew Wilkow wrote on X, reacting to news of increased rents. “That put pressure on housing supply. Shortages create price increases. It’s pretty simple.”… https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/07/new-york-city-rents-hit-all-time-high/ A request for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s administration for potential violations of the Logan Act has been filed by House Republicans, led by Rep. Addison McDowell (R-NC). Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche received the letter on Thursday morning after it was revealed that a senior Mamdani official attempted to organize an unauthorized meeting with a high-ranking member of the Iranian regime while the country remains at war with the United States. “The Department of Justice needs to look into Mamdani’s office and ensure they are not acting as rogue agents to the detriment of America’s national security,” the congressman continued. “Mamdani does not speak for America. President Trump earned the public’s trust to ensure the safety and security of the United States.” As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, President Trump is expected to drop major revelations tonight about Chinese Communist Party meddling in U.S. elections, including evidence that Beijing compromised American voter data and that the CIA knew about it during Trump’s first term and deliberately withheld the information from him. President Trump has repeatedly said free and fair elections are the foundation of the country. Tonight, he is expected to show the nation exactly what foreign adversaries, and those inside the government who enabled or ignored them, were willing to do to undermine that foundation. For years, the left and their allies in the corporate media have tried to convince America that political violence is almost exclusively a right-wing problem. Secretary of State Marco Rubio just obliterated that narrative. In what may have been the strongest speech of his political career, Rubio laid out what he says is the growing threat of transnational far-left violence and the foreign regimes helping fuel it. According to Rubio, this isn’t about a few angry protesters. It’s about a coordinated movement that crosses borders, shares tactics, spreads radical ideology, and works to destabilize free societies. Most stunning of all, Rubio pointed directly at the communist regime in Cuba, accusing it of playing a major role in funding and exporting this violent agenda throughout the Americas, including into the United States. The declassified CIA note is one document in a trove the White House released Thursday night in conjunction with President Donald Trump’s speech on election integrity and major election vulnerabilities. During his nearly 26-minute speech, the president announced declassified findings of China compromising U.S. voter rolls, noncitizens on voter rolls, vulnerabilities in electronic voting and ballot-counting systems, and an election fraud investigation in Michigan after the 2020 election that was allegedly slow-walked by the Biden Department of Justice (DOJ). During his speech, President Trump accused the Chinese government of seeking to “identify U.S. journalists who had reported negatively on the U.S. president and pay them large sums of money to write more negative articles about him, as many as they could and they didn’t care what they said.” “The Chinese government wanted the U.S. president to lose the next election,” the 45th and 47th president said. On Friday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry demanded the American government “stop vilifying China.” New York City Rents Hit ALL-TIME HIGH Under Zohran Mamdani’s Watch:
