Kevin Warsh was sworn in as the 17th chairman of the Federal Reserve on Friday during a ceremony at the White House. Warsh took the oath of office from Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in the East Room after President Donald Trump delivered remarks, in which he predicted Warsh “will go down as one of the truly great chairmen of the Federal Reserve that we’ve ever had.” Warsh noted that the Fed’s mandate is to maximize employment and foster price stability, and he will operate as chairman from a “reform-oriented” perspective. “When we pursue those aims with wisdom and clarity, independence and resolve, inflation can be lower, growth stronger, real take-home pay higher, and America can be more prosperous; and no less important, America’s place in the world more secure,” he said. Members of Congress are calling for the party’s Democratic National Committee (DNC) chair Ken Martin to resign following the release of the DNC’s 2024 election autopsy on Thursday. Further motivating the disfavor are the “DNC’s anemic fundraising numbers compared to its GOP counterpart,” according to Axios. The report was first given to the DNC last fall, but Martin decided not to release it to the public, saying he didn’t want to create a distraction from Democratic wins in November. The autopsy reportedly paints the picture of a political party that it says has “vacillated between stagnation and retrogression” since Barack Obama’s 2008 victory, AFP reported. It also finds fault with the Biden White House and the Harris campaign for failing to do more to define their candidate beyond being “not Trump.” Mega Democrat donor John Morgan told Fox News in an interview Thursday night that the party’s policies were sure losers. Morgan cited issues like Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), “woke” culture, open borders and men unfairly competing against women in sports, which the autopsy fails to even mention, despite its 192-page length. President Donald Trump called to make daylight saving time permanent in the United States as the Energy and Commerce Committee vote on the Sunshine Protection Act. The president issued his call from his Truth Social account on Thursday. “Big Vote today (48-1!) in the Energy and Commerce Committee on a Bill including The Sunshine Protection Act, which will be making Daylight Saving Time Permanent! This is so important in that Hundreds of Millions of Dollars are spent every year by people, Cities, and States, being forced to change their Clocks,” he wrote. “Many of these Clocks are located in Towers, and the cost of renting, or using, Heavy Equipment to do this twice a year is prohibitive! The House will be attaching The Sunshine Protection Act to ‘The Highway Bill,'” he continued. We are going with the far more popular alternative, Saving Daylight, which gives you a longer, brighter Day — And who can be against that — This is an easy one!” he concluded. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2026/05/21/trump-calls-make-daylight-savings-time-permanent/ Another corruption scandal has erupted inside the federal contracting world. The Department of Justice announced Wednesday that two Florida defense contractors were arrested and charged in what prosecutors describe as a bribery and major fraud conspiracy that allegedly corrupted the competitive procurement process for a Department of War technology innovation project in the Pacific. According to the indictment unsealed this week in the District of Hawaii, these guys allegedly funneled approximately $1.25 million in bribes over five years to a U.S. Army employee while fraudulently jacking up government contracting costs to hide the payoffs. Kent is also accused of pocketing an extra $680,000 by routing inflated contract funds straight into his personal consulting business. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/05/two-shady-defense-contractors-busted-massive-bribery-fraud/ President Trump said in a statement on Friday that he will not be in attendance at the wedding of his oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., noting that he “very much wanted” to attend but must remain in Washington, DC, this weekend. The guest list totals for the intimate gathering has fewer than 50 people, according to CNN, which reports that Trump’s absence may be intentional and long-planned due to the couple’s desire for an extremely private ceremony. Don Jr. and Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson will reportedly tie the knot on a small island in the Bahamas. [Trump:] That’s one I can’t win on. If I do attend, I get killed. If I don’t attend, I get killed by the fake news, of course, I’m talking about. No, but he’s got a very, a person, who I’ve known for a long time, and hopefully they’re going to have a great marriage. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/05/just-trump-announces-he-will-not-attend-don/ Kevin Warsh Sworn In as Federal Reserve Chairman in East Room Ceremony:
