The “free” diapers that failed Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) is handing out will cost taxpayers more than three times as much as Costco diapers. One person who deals in baby products says it could be as high as eight to ten times as much [if buying in bulk]. Why? Because this isn’t about giving new mothers 400 free diapers. Rather, it is about Newsom using a government program to funnel millions of taxpayer dollars to the nonprofit organization Baby2Baby, which is led by an executive who sits on the board of California Partners Project, which was co-founded by Newsom’s insufferable wife, Jennifer Siebel-Ocasio-Rodham Newsom. So, the state will pay 50 cents per diaper. You see, that’s how the government grift works. That’s how corrupt politicians pay off their pals. It’s all hidden in a compassionate-sounding government program when it’s really a taxpayer-funded payoff. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) shot back at California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) for making a misleading claim about his state’s renewable energy usage... Newsom directed his ire at DOE Sec. Chris Wright on Wednesday after he criticized California’s energy policies during a Fox Business appearance, saying “They’ve destroyed their electricity grid” and pointing out that they went from producing 40 percent of U.S. oil to just two percent. “They’ve done everything possible to make themselves more fragile to external shocks, to make energy more expensive, to drive the highest adjusted poverty rate of any [state] of the [nation], net out migration of the population of business,” Wright said to Mornings with Maria host Maria Bartiromo on Wednesday morning. The left-wing governor’s press office responded to Wright’s words on X, claiming that “California is now powered by 67% clean energy.” The DOE delivered a fact-check in response, calling the governor’s claim incorrect. “False. Just 15% of CA primary energy consumption comes from ‘renewables.’ More than 75% of CA energy consumption is from oil and gas — that’s higher than the national rate,” the department wrote back on X. “It is true that CA has embraced anti-hydrocarbon policies. The result? CA has the highest electricity rates in the continental U.S., the highest gas prices, and the highest adjusted poverty rate in America.” In reality, California’s total primary energy consumption still remains dominated by oil and gas at over 75 percent, largely due to transportation fuels. That portion makes up about 40 percent of California’s total primary energy consumption, bringing overall fossil-fuel dependence to more than 75 percent. For decades, there would be much talk among politicians about United States budget deficits (and the national debt). Yet this faded sometime after 2010, at the latest, after which our debt achieved elephant-in-the-room status. It’s perhaps just too scary or inconvenient — when you want or are promising free stuff — to discuss. Regardless, what just happened is discussion-worthy. To wit: U.S. public debt has reached 100 percent of GDP for just the second time (first was during the Covid pandemic) since the WWII-era. We’re now in league with debtor nations such as Greece, Italy, France, and Canada. Yet the picture darkens further when considering the usually unconsidered: state debt. As commentator Allan J. Feifer wrote Thursday, state-level debt is the gasoline driving the growth of progressive states and enabling their anti-American behavior. Progressive political thought, translated into action, can best be understood as the lack of restraint, most notably in Blue states that have two powerful levers at their disposal — taxation and the ability to create unlimited debt. It is through these two avenues that progressives “buy” the loyalty of all those useful idiots required to remain in power and dispense largess. [Eleven] states run major deficit budgets, and the total debt is in the trillions nationwide: Democrats run all … of these Blue states, which also correlates closely with states experiencing rampant fraud, graft, and corruption. Returning to the feds, one could wonder where all the money goes. Well, illustrative is a very amusing clip (below) of the late Ronald Reagan on the Johnny Carson Show in 1975 discussing government waste. Among the things Reagan mentioned? The feds spent “$249,000 to find out it’s better to be rich, young, and healthy than old, poor, and sick.” Really, though, is any of this surprising? A low-end estimate of the average personal debt in the U.S. is $55,000 — for every man, woman, and child. So while the government does steal from the people, it also may reflect them just as much. https://thenewamerican.com/us/economics/nuclear-debt-bomb-u-s-debt-reaches-red-zone-100-of-gdp/ A transition from traditional energy was “always a fantasy” as alternative sources are not reliable, dependable, or affordable, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said during an event with Breitbart News on Monday. Burgum said there was a massive shift in the world toward green energy, which he said was “being pushed by certain elements” calling for the need to transition to new energy sources. This, however, was always a fantasy and a borderline lie, the Interior Secretary explained. “And transition meant we’re going to move from one form of energy to another. And the transition was always a fantasy, even stronger. You could call it a lie, because if you’re going to go from affordable, reliable, and secure energy to intermittent, weather-dependent, foreign-sourced, it was not reliable, not dependable, not affordable, and not secure,” Burgum explained, emphasizing the alternative was none of those things at all. “Two existential threats that the Trump administration was facing was Iran having a nuclear weapon and China winning the AI arms race. And guess what? Both of those require the strategy of energy dominance. That’s why President Trump declared an energy emergency on the first day,” he said. The Mayor of Arcadia, California, Eileen Wang, has resigned from office following charges that she acted as a foreign agent on behalf of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), for which she has agreed to plead guilty. She will reportedly spend up to ten years in prison after executing directives from Chinese officials to post Chinese propaganda on a website called US News Center. Wang “received and executed directives from PRC government officials to post pro-PRC content on the website, and sometimes sought approval from PRC government officials to circulate other pro-PRC content” between 2020 and 2022, according to court filings.Nolte: Gavin Newsom’s ‘Free’ Diapers Cost More Than 3 Times Costco Diapers:
